While many might think of the power the Xbox Series X offers in terms of new games, Microsoft's latest piece of gaming hardware is able to do a lot for older games as well. Whether that's unlocking frame rates, optimizing visuals, or generally providing a smoother experience for those playing it, the platform looks to make the Series X a home for four generations of Xbox titles.

Included in these is Grand Theft Auto 4one of the more recent entries in Rockstar's seminal open-world crime series that sees Niko Bellic look to make his name in the streets of Liberty City. Yet, it seems players looking to revisit the game might want to avoid doing so on the Xbox Series X, with Kylinho97 recently reporting on Reddit that the console's enhanced frame rate makes GTA title nigh unbeatable.

Those who've experienced the rise and fall of Niko Bellic through the game's main campaign before will likely remember one of two final missions titled "Out of Commission," which occurs when the player opts to get revenge on Niko's enemy Dimitri Rascalov. Following the encounter, Niko's ally Jimmy Pegorino betrays him, forcing the protagonist to chase after the mobster as he attempts to flee. One part of this chase sees the player forced to jump from a ramp to a helicopter, where they have to spam the A button to climb in and pilot the aircraft. The only problem is that the frame rate on the Series X is so high that it fails to register the player tapping the A button enough times, meaning they're pretty much unable to climb aboard.

The Reddit post reporting the bug shows it off in full, with the player simply falling off the helicopter and into the water below after a few seconds of intense tapping. The user also clarifies that this is a known bug for Grand Theft Auto 4's PC port as well and isn't fixed by trying to manually cap the frame rate in the Series X's settings.

It seems a fix has already been identified, however, it's far from a simple one. Reaching out to another player in the comments reporting that they too were suffering with this frustrating glitch, the original poster claimed that using the Xbox co-pilot feature that registers two controllers as one allowed them to get past it. Allegedly it was still a struggle though, with the poster apparently having to make use of two toothbrushes to get it to work.

Although the glitch is a particularly frustrating one when considering it pops up right at the tail-end of the game, it seems most older games have been utilizing the power of the Xbox Series X without similar issues. Hopefully, Rockstar or Microsoft will look to solve the problem so players don't have to jump through excessive hoops to roll credits on Grand Theft Auto 4.

The Xbox Series X is out now.
