Soon Grand Theft Auto fans will be able to revisit the PS2-era GTA games with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, which is bringing the classic titles to modern platforms with GTA 5-style controls and revamped graphics. And while some fans may be growing impatient for Grand Theft Auto 6, it seems that there could very well be more remasters in their future to in the meantime, as a remaster of Grand Theft Auto 4 is rumored to be in development.

This information comes from RalphsValve, a relatively new Twitter account who has mostly been sharing supposedly leaked information on the Call of Duty franchise. Some of the claims made by RalphsValve about the 2022 Call of Duty game were later corroborated by more reliable sources, so they do have a bit more legitimacy than other random "leakers" online. Even so, fans should take what they say with a grain of salt, as they've already backtracked on some of their claims, like Call of Duty 2022 having a P.T.-style mode.

In any case, RalphsValve latest claims have nothing to do with Call of Duty, but with Grand Theft Auto 4. RalphsValve tweeted an image of Grand Theft Auto 4 art, claiming that the remaster is going to come in 2023. The Grand Theft Auto 4 remaster will reportedly release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with no Switch version mentioned. If RalphsValve is to be believed, the GTA 4 remaster will come with the Episodes from Liberty City DLC bundled in.

The only other piece of information that RalphsValve shared is that the Grand Theft Auto 4 remaster, if it does exist, will be skipping multiplayer and focusing on single-player only. As some may recall, Grand Theft Auto 4 had online multiplayer modes, though nothing on the scale of GTA 5's Grand Theft Auto Online component. Removing multiplayer is not an uncommon practice in video game remasters, so it's easy to believe that would happen if Rockstar is genuinely remastering the game.

While there are definitely fans who would want to see Grand Theft Auto 4 remastered in the same vein as GTA Trilogy, others may be frustrated by the lack of news regarding Grand Theft Auto 6. The latest rumors suggest that GTA 6 is in development hell and it will likely be years before fans even see the game, let alone play it. However, nothing official has been said at the time of this writing, and so GTA 6's status is up in the air at this point.

It's unclear when fans will get news on Grand Theft Auto 6, but they do know what Rockstar's next releases will be. After GTA Trilogy launches this week, 2022 will see the release of the next-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online, so GTA fans will have plenty to play, even if they may be growing tired of the GTA 5 at this point.
