Credits serve as the main currency in Gran Turismo 7. They're primarily used to buy new cars, but players can also use them to tune their existing vehicles, making them faster and, in some cases, a little easier to drive in the process. Unfortunately, however, tuning isn't always cheap and some of the cars in the game can be incredibly expensive, meaning that players are going to have to earn an awful lot of Credits in order to be able to afford the very rides.

Though players will gradually earn credits as they make their way through the single-player campaign, some will no doubt prefer a quicker method of gaining Credits. The game's excessive microtransactions do offer a solution of sorts, but they're ridiculously overpriced and so are best avoided like the plague. Thankfully, there is another way to get Credits quickly in Gran Turismo 7, but, while the method itself is quick, it's not exactly easy and will require a little bit of prep work.

How to Unlock the High-Speed Ring in Gran Turismo 7

Sadly, other than through the Roulette mini-game, the only way to earn credits in Gran Turismo 7 is by completing races. The good news is that some, like the GT Cup Gr.4 race at Japan's High Speed Ring, offer massive payouts. Coming in first will reward players with 65,000 credits, which, with a +50% Clean Race Bonus, works out at 97,500 Credits. Not bad for under seven minutes of driving.

Unfortunately, the High Speed Ring isn't available straight away, but it won't be too long before players can swing by. It unlocks after players have completed Menu Book No. 4 for Luca, after which it can be selected via the top right-hand corner of the Asia-Oceania section of the World Circuits menu. Players will need an eligible car in order to enter the GT Cup though, so there's somewhere else they'll need to go first.

How to Get the GR Supra Race Car '19 in Gran Turismo 7

Players will be able to enter the High Speed Ring GT Cup event with any Gr.4 car, but most will probably end up opting for the GR Supra Race Car '19. This is because it's possible to get one as a gift car simply by passing the International B license test at the License Center. This does mean players getting their National B and National A licenses first if they haven't already, but as both are needed to complete the single-player campaign anyway, they'll be saving their future selves some work by getting them now.

Of the ten events that make up the International B license, the only one likely to cause too much trouble is IB-5. After a few attempts though, players should get used to driving on dirt, and, providing they remember to steer early before bends, should have no trouble completing it. It's worth noting that players only need to achieve bronze on each challenge to unlock the GR Supra Race Car '19, which shouldn't be too taxing for most players.

How to Lower a Car's PP in Gran Turismo 7

Annoyingly, the GT Cup Gr.4 race has a PP limit of 630, meaning that players will need to downgrade their newly acquired GR Supra just a little in order to get it across the line. There are two tuning items that can help to accomplish this though: the Power Restrictor (800 Credits) and the Ballast (500 Credits). Both can be purchased from the Club Sports range at the tuning shop once players reach Collector Level 4.

After installing these two items, players should head over to the race menu and then select the "Detailed Settings" option from the "Car Settings" menu. From this screen, they'll be able to tweak their car's performance and can decrease its PP with three particular settings. Lowering the Output Adjustment setting of the ECU and decreasing the Power Restrictor settings will do the trick, but, to save time, it's better to just add a 127 KG Ballast.

How to Finish First in the GT Cup Gr.4 in Gran Turismo 7

In order to secure first place in the GT Cup Gr.4, players will need to turn off all braking assistance, assuming, that is, that they haven't already done so. This is because the game has a habit of braking unnecessarily as players head into the track's final bend, making it almost impossible for players to secure a podium finish with the assistance left on. As such, most players will perform better without it.

Though the High Speed Ring can be a little intimidating at first, it actually becomes quite simple after players get a feel for it. They'll be able to fly through the first and last bends without coming off the accelerator, but will need to slow down for bends two and three. Around 80 MPH seems to be the sweet spot, but players can go a little faster and feather the brakes if they're feeling brave. The fourth bend also requires a speed of around 80 MPH, but as it comes so soon after the third one, players shouldn't have to slow down too much.

As soon as they're able, players should invest in a Nitro System from the auto shop, as this can make the race considerably easier. It is possible to finish first without one, but being able to fly out ahead of the other drivers with R3 at the very beginning of the race makes it much easier to hang onto the Clean Race Bonus. The game is fairly forgiving in this regard though, so, providing players don't fly into anything headfirst, they shouldn't need to worry too much about losing the 50% bonus.

For those having trouble with the GT Cup Gr.4, there are a few other events that they can try out instead. The Clubman Cup Plus race at Goodwood, England pays out 52,500 Credits if players finish first and with a clean race bonus, and they'll be able to get the Mini Cooper S '65 that they need to enter for free while completing Menu Book No.3. It's also a little faster, coming in at around five minutes instead of almost seven.

Just before completing the single-player campaign, players can also unlock the Sardegna Windmills race which offers the same payout as the GT Cup Gr.4 for only around four minutes' work. This one is a little trickier though due to the awkward jump mechanics on dirt tracks. The final tournament offers some pretty big payouts too, but those looking to farm credits early on in the game should stick to the GT Cup Gr.4 or the Clubman Cup Plus.

Gran Turismo 7 is available now on PS4 and PS5.
