With about a month to go before Polyphony Digital releases Gran Turismo 7, the development studio is clearing up the remaining mysteries surrounding their latest racing game. One of them is regarding the storage space required.

Gran Turismo 7 aims to deliver the sense of car culture the series is known for while being a culmination of expectations players hold for a series entry. Today, storefronts finally unveiled how much storage consoles will need to store the game.

PlayStation Direct, the official preorder page, indicates that Gran Turismo 7 will require 110GB of storage space at the bare minimum for both the PS4 and PS5. To put that number in perspective, the PS5 has the storage size of 825GB. Interestingly, one Twitter account that keeps track of the backend data of the PlayStation stores states that the PS5 version of the game is 89.445GB. However, this number excludes the Day One patch, meaning that the patch will fill in the rest of the game's storage space on launch. Players may also begin pre-loading Gran Turismo 7 on February 25th, one week before the game launches.

Originally, Polyphony Digital expected to ship Gran Turismo 7 during 2021, but the studio decided to delay the game. The game will contain 420 different cars and over 90 courses that experience realistic weather. Furthermore, unlike Gran Turismo Sport, Gran Turismo 7 will launch with the fan-favorite GT Mode where players can buy, sell, and tune cars for single-player races to win cash and build their own car collection. In fact, the game will allow players to store up to 1,000 vehicles in their garage. PS5 players will get a more enhanced experience with its visuals, adaptive triggers from the PS5's DualSense controller, and fast loading speeds.

What makes this title unique is that this game is the first in the Gran Turismo series to be a cross-generation title, letting players enjoy the game on either a PS4 or PS5. Players looking for additional content at release have the option to buy the 25th Anniversary Edition of Gran Turismo 7. This edition comes with the PS5 game disc, a digital PS4 version of the game, the official soundtrack, several bonus cars, and 1,100,000 in-game credits.

March will be a great month for gaming with titles such as Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Tiny Tina's Wonderland, the next-gen upgrades for Grand Theft Auto 5, and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. While plans for some games releasing in March might change, Gran Turismo 7 is set to launch in the same month, and players who enjoy racing games should keep an eye on this title.

Gran Turismo 7 is set to release on March 4th, 2022 on the PS4 and PS5.
