After a bit of a bumpy ride with GT Sport, Gran Turismo 7 gets the series back on track, for the most part, at least. With more than 400 cars available, it's the most content-rich Gran Turismo game in years, and, thanks to the immense power of the PS5, the best looking too, by some margin. However, as is often the case, there's a whole lot more than just impressive variety and bleeding-edge graphics going on under the game's hood.

Despite its many strengths, Gran Turismo 7 is far from a perfect game. The way that players progress through the main single-player campaign, for example, can be a little repetitive, while the decision to lock key game modes away behind story progress is a baffling choice, to say the least. The game also includes a gambling mini-game and heavy-handed microtransactions, both of which tarnish the overall experience quite a bit.

The Gran Turismo series has always prided itself on its realism, and this is once again the case in Gran Turismo 7. The attention to detail really is quite astounding, though it can make the driving experience a little intimidating at first glance. This feeling melts away pretty quickly though, and, in the event that it doesn't, the game's highly customizable difficult settings should help.

Just like its predecessors, the game does a fairly decent job of teaching players how they're supposed to interact with it, though there are a few things that it skips over here and there. This section of the guide will aim to fill in some of those gaps, with how-to guides, tips and tricks, and answers to some of the more frequently asked questions all featured here.

With more than 400 cars available, one might be forgiven for thinking that choosing which vehicle to drive in Gran Turismo 7 might be difficult. To its credit though, the game does a very good job of guiding players from car to car, ensuring that they get at least some experience with just about every vehicle type while playing through the single-player campaign.

That said, there are some vehicles that are locked away behind ridiculously large paywalls, with players needing to save up millions of Credits in order to buy some of the game's premium rides. This section of the guides will look at some of the more expensive car prices, which ones, if any, are worth buying, as well as some of the fastest vehicles in the game.

  • Single-Player Campaign

Though Gran Turismo 7 doesn't really have a story to speak of, it does feature a pretty expansive single-player campaign. A little like Pokemon, the main aim is for players to build up their collections, while also winning the occasional competition. This is accomplished by completing Menu Books for a man named Luca, who is one of several NPCs that will help players come to grips with the game's mechanics in the early stages of Gran Turismo 7.

There are 39 of these Menu Books in total, which, together, will take players around 20 hours to complete. Some of them are collection-based, while others are centered around winning races. This section of the guide will have information about the many challenges found in the single-player campaign, as well as details about some of the real-world-inspired tracks that players will be racing on in order to complete them.
