Then end (we think) is near.  Polyphony Digital's magnum opus of racing simulation, Gran Turismo 5 is set to release less then two months from now. At Tokyo Game Show, they presented the latest trailer to the game that has been in the making for nearly seven years.

While it has taken an exorbitant amount of time and money to develop Gran Turismo 5, it looks like it's about to finally pay off. Obviously the team behind this game has taken so much pride in making what can arguably be considered the most beautiful racing simulation ever. If not the most beautiful game ever.

This game is already going to sell gang-busters, but I think the closet demographic that is going to pick this up may be the fans of the profession driving circuits that that have been licensed for this game. While there have been other World Rally Car Championship, NASCAR, and F1 games, GT5 is looking to pull all those racing games together in one, and blowing the doors off all of its competitors.

After seeing this trailer, I'm very curious to see what Jeff Gordon, Sébastien Loeb, and Sebastian Vettel will bring to the table. I'd be very interested to see some sort of mentor-like situation where they would give you tips on how to navigate the courses that are in their area of expertise.

If November 2nd is truly the release date I'll be pretty pumped for Gran Turismo 5. If not, I don't really know if I can handle yet another delay.  I've already had the experience of waiting five years for Gran Turismo PSP, and I'm not sure if that was really worth it. I really want Gran Turismo 5 to be worth it.

Gran Turismo 5 is exclusive to PS3 and (hopefully) comes out in North America on November 2nd, 3rd in the EU and Japan, and November 4th in Australia.
