DC Comics' FanDome event starts on October 16 and video game fans are hopeful for news regarding WB Games Montreal's upcoming action game Gotham Knights. Previous reveals for Gotham Knights have confirmed four playable characters, including Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Red Robin. Villains for Gotham Knights have been kept largely secretive, however, outside of the Court of Owls. A new teaser image shared ahead of DC FanDome may have hinted at some familiar foes to look forward to, however.

The teaser image is a piece of art featuring an in-game newspaper, partially burnt, speckled with blood, and with tire skid marks along one side. Suffice to say, Gotham has been going through some tumultuous events since the publication of this newspaper. The headline of the paper reads "BRUCE WAYNE DEAD," the key event leading to the start of Gotham Knights. But it's the text of the smaller articles that hint at further, previously unconfirmed content.

A separate page reveals the paper's "Classifieds" section and there are some interesting jobs listed. For example, there's a bartender position at the Iceberg Lounge, a personal assistant job at Falcone Enterprises, as well as a photo of Pamela's Cafe. The Iceberg Lounge is notable the base of operations for Batman villain Penguin. Carmine Falcone, also known as "The Roman," is perhaps the most powerful mob boss in Gotham, going back to his comic introduction in Batman: Year One. Pamela is also the first name of villain Poison Ivy, though why she'd be running a cafe is quite mysterious.

Another exciting teaser has to do with the newspaper's ownership. The newspaper is familiarly named the Gotham Gazette, but there's a subtitle reading, "An Elliot Company." Elliot is notably the last name of Dr. Thomas Elliot, AKA Hush, the son of another of Gotham's wealthiest families that always bore a terrible grudge toward his childhood friend, Bruce Wayne.

The paper is rife with other references that may or may not hint at bigger elements of Gotham Knights' story. Reporter Vicky Vane wrote the article on Bruce Wayne's death. Solomon, the name of one of Bruce Wayne's ancestors, is mentioned in a burnt portion of the newspaper. Other job listings include both a Wayne Enterprises security guard and engineering intern, as well as an animal shelter volunteer, and "rebels" who love tech and shaking up Gotham City. Familiar Gotham terms and locations like the GCPD, Gotham City Bank, the Bowery, and Bristol County are also worth mentioning.

With Gotham Knights being an open-world game akin to the Arkham series, it's likely that most if not all of these references are tied to in-game characters, locations, and storylines. As such, this newspaper could be Gotham Knights' most exciting reveal yet. At the very least, it implies Batman fans will want to turn into DC FanDome on October 16.
