DC FanDome built a lot of hype for the brand’s upcoming games, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League and Gotham Knights. Both trailers were hype-inducing, and with both games set to release next year, DC fans are truly getting treated to hopefully solid co-op experiences focused on the Court of Owls and Justice League as primary antagonists.

Of course, it’s easy to want to know more about these games. For example, perhaps the biggest thing is an actual release date which hasn’t come yet and may not come for a while. However, it seems one developer has narrowed “2022” down some by accidentally leaking Gotham Knights’ release window.

Jin Park, who is an art director and designer from a company known as Rokkan, has listed experience working on art, concepts, and designs for WB Games, Cadillac, Cybex, MonkeyShoulder, and more. He has a personal website that details as much of his work as possible, and it seems he accidentally let some of his work on Gotham Knights release a little early.

While this section of his site has now been pulled, Park had recently updated a Gotham Knights page, and one image contained “2022 Spring” on it. This likely means anywhere from March to June next year, but it could be sooner than that, as “Spring” is rather broad in definition. Essentially, it’s likely to release in the first half of next year. But this image also doesn’t mean this release window is legit, as Park may have made a mistake or that could be an old release window—there’s a lot of room for error here.

Assuming it is true, it may give a look into how Warner Bros, WB Games Montreal, and Rocksteady are coordinating releases next year. If WB Games is releasing Gotham Knights in the Spring, it’d be best to expect Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League in the fall or holiday season. Releasing these two similarly-styled gameplay experiences close together doesn’t really make sense, so to avoid competing with themselves, they’ll each likely release in different seasons next year.

Of course, all fans can do now is sit and wait. The latest DC FanDome Trailer really drove home the mystery of The Court of Owls, and there’s still a lot more to be shown. Gotham Knights has a total of five enemy factions, after all, but if it is releasing in spring 2022, perhaps the information pipeline will speed up as this year ends and 2022 begins.

Gotham Knights releases in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
