Warner Bros Interactive’s upcoming superhero co-op game Gotham Knights just debuted a brand new trailer showcasing its suite of PC-exclusive features. PC players can look forward to higher resolutions, higher frame rates, and increased fidelity, thanks to a handful of upscaling technologies making their way to Gotham Knights when it launches next month.

Gotham Knights is the new standalone Batman game developed by WB Games Montreal, disconnected from the popular Arkham series of games. A lot has changed in the PC gaming space since WB Montreal’s last game, Batman: Arkham Origins, released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. Huge strides have been made in ray tracing, resolution upscaling technology, and rasterization speed with the introduction of new consoles and graphics cards throughout the years. However, WB Montreal seems ready to deliver a game befitting modern graphical standards and appears to be embracing multiple next-gen technologies. Gotham Knights is currently slated as a PC, PS5, and Xbox Series exclusive, and its recent PC trailer does a good job at demonstrating why the game isn't coming to last-gen consoles.

Today’s new trailer was captured entirely on PC and provides players with a first look at the graphical technologies featured in Gotham Knights. Significant cutting-edge features such as ray-traced reflections are showcased prominently throughout the trailer while promising 4K resolution, ultra-high frame rates, and ultra-wide monitor support. Gotham Knights also boasts support for Intel’s Xe Super Sampling technology but will also include Nvidia’s DLSS 2.0 and AMD’s FSR 2.0 upscaling tech. Eagle-eyed fans can spot a glimpse of the PC settings menu which includes Dynamic Resolution options and a Field of View slider. WB Montreal even demonstrated a quick comparison swipe between three different graphical settings.

For PC players, Gotham Knights appears to be a step in the right direction. Historically, the Batman games haven’t had the best relationship with their PC audience. Most notably, Batman Arkham Knight had one of the most disastrous PC ports of the time, even being pulled from Steam until a different studio came in and fixed the game. In contrast, WB Montreal tossing in the full lineup of upscaling technologies from Intel, AMD, and Nvidia, along with supporting ultra-wide monitors, shows that the studio has a wide array of possible PC configurations in mind and has performance as a priority as the studio finishes up Gotham Knights.

Gotham Knights launches in less than a month, and so far, the game seems to be gaining back some favor with Batman fans. Its initial gameplay reveal and lack of Caped Crusader himself left some fans underwhelmed, but it has been making a comeback through various story and character trailers. While it remains to be seen how WB Montreal executes upon its second game in the Batman franchise, today’s PC trailer does at least inspire some confidence that fans will be able to run Gotham Knights reasonably well thanks to a slew of graphical options.

Gotham Knights launches on October 21 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
