Leveling up in Gotham Knights allows the heroes to gain an assortment of powerful new skills and abilities, and there are plenty of ways to gain EXP. EXP is gained from most activities in Gotham Knights, from crime-fighting to hunting for collectibles, but there are lots of skills to unlock and no shortage of crimes to thwart, so this guide will cover the most efficient methods of obtaining EXP during gameplay.
Beat the Main Missions
Perhaps unsurprisingly, completing main story missions and missions featuring major villains is a very effective means of acquiring EXP, with each section of a case file dishing out a large chunk of EXP on completion. Investigating Batman's last case and tracking down villains like Mr. Freeze and Harley Quinn is a fantastic way of getting lots of EXP very quickly, assuming players are able to clear the more difficult combat encounters that these offer.
Of particular note are the missions featuring boss fights with the various villains, which offer a tremendous amount of EXP on completion but also offer some very difficult combat encounters.
Complete Challenges
Another excellent source of EXP is completing challenges. These can be viewed in the Batcomputer menu and offer EXP on completion, along with other useful rewards. Some particularly lucrative challenges are the ones offered by the game's various Contacts, which will often provide EXP alongside valuable gear.
Taking on the Heroic Movement challenges is another excellent way to grab some easy EXP, and there's a separate set of them for each hero, meaning there's plenty of them to clear for extra EXP. The initial Knighthood challenges unlock heroic travel for each hero and can be completed while also tackling Premeditated Crimes, making them very effective ways to level up early on.
Premeditated Crimes & Bonus Objectives
Another great way to gain EXP and resources is by taking on Premeditated Crimes found throughout Gotham. This will require players to gather clues by defeating enemies and interrogating informants, but each Premeditated Crime offers a decent EXP reward along with useful loot.
Additional loot and EXP can be obtained by completing the bonus objectives offered for Premeditated Crimes and other missions. These can range from completing the objective undetected, taking down enemies with ranged attacks or throws, or even pulling off a certain number of momentum attacks.
