Gotham Knights' pre-announcement marketing consisted of an elaborate thread of cryptic and obtuse teases that hinted at a Court of Owls game in some capacity. While fans assumed this would result in a Court of Owls-focused game where Batman himself was playable, that was not the case when Gotham Knights was officially announced.

Rather, the part about the Court of Owls' inclusion as antagonists was correct. Gotham Knights, as well as another DC heavyweight in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, is now set to reappear for DC FanDome this year. Right in time for the occasion, certain fans have been sent marketing packages from Warner Bros. that serve as teasers for the event next weekend.

Only a handful of individuals have announced the arrival of a WB Gotham Knights invitation package. It seems as though this kit is only available for individuals who are registered as WB Partners as stated in each recipient's caption hashtags. The boxes include the Gotham Gazette periodical that Gotham Knights previously revealed, though this hard copy is not burnt or blood-stained. Further, a regal invitation to a masquerade ball is also included, and an Owl mask is provided for the recipient's fictional initiation to the Court.

Interestingly, one recipient named "bitter" has chosen to consciously obscure details from the package's contents, such as who this year's masquerade ball may be held in honor of. They state that "there are more articles, newspaper is double sided" with an added emoji that admits they are consciously keeping something secret.

However, James Sigfield has fully revealed the invitation card, which details that the ball is in fact in memoriam of Bruce Wayne. The invitation is hosted by the First Families of Gotham Foundation, further tying this event to the Court and its nefarious schemes. From Gotham Knights' marketing thus far, it appears as though Bruce Wayne, although seemingly deceased, will be a significant part of the game's narrative with regard to the Court of Owls.

Gotham Knights' Court of Owls mask is distinguished apart from the Court of Owls mask that can be purchased based on Scott Snyder's comic book run. The package's box itself bears Gotham Knights' title logo as well as an insignia that resembles a Talon's mask, and on the inside, there is a printed quote of the Court's nursery rhyme.

One week remains until more information will be learned about Gotham Knights, but fans may predict narrative-centered content that perhaps details more about the secret society of Gothamites.

Gotham Knights releases in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
