His former protegees take up the role of Gotham's protectors, brought together by Bruce Wayne’s final words video sent out to them upon his death, instructing the four heroes that they must work together to keep the streets free from crime and safeguard Gotham's citizens.

Playing Gotham Knights can be done in a couple of different ways. Solo, where players can choose to clean up the streets of Gotham by themselves, and also co-op mode, where two vigilantes can pair up to become a new dynamic duo fighting crime wherever they may find it.

Players must solve Batman's last case when they first set foot in Gotham City, a task that will teach them how the various mechanics in Gotham Knights work. While doing the tutorial mode, players cannot play with a friend as it is designed as a single-player section to teach the basics.

How to Change Characters in Gotham Knights

Since Batman is dead, players must choose to play as one of the bat family instead. The choices are - Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Barbara’s Gordon/Batgirl, Jason Todd/Red Hood, and Tim Drake/Robin. Each has their own unique play style and move set, which can be utilized across the various missions.

Choosing one of the heroes to take out on patrol is a tough choice to make. Sometimes considering a mission's objectives or even bonus objectives might help make the decision. If a mission's bonus objectives are stealth-based, it may be best to leave Red Hood behind for that one. Similarly, if a mission requires enemies to be taken out quickly, Jason may be just the ticket with his brute strength and powerful striking.

If the hero picked for a night's patrol isn’t fitting well, there is a simple way to change characters at any point on Gotham's main map. To change character, first head to the Belfry, either by traversing rooftops, summoning the bat cycle, or using fast travel.

Once back on the Belfry, head to the left of the bat computer over to the four suits and press the corresponding button that appears on-screen when facing one to select a new hero to continue with.

XP for abilities carries over to all 4 of the Bat Family; remember to spend the points and level up the other characters too.

Players will know the character selected has been changed when the plain-clothed character in the Belfry also changes. After the desired hero has been picked, just head on out the Belfry door and protect Gotham City --good luck.

Gotham Knights is available for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC
