Gotham Knights: 10 Things Missing From The Arkham Series That Should Have Been Included
From villains to riddles here are 10 things that the Gotham Knights series should have included from the Arkham series.

Some suits in Gotham Knights are inspired by comic books. Others are the unique creation of Gotham Knights’ developer, Warner Bros. Montreal. The best suits in Gotham Knights are plentiful, and the way to get them varies depending on the outfit.

Updated on November 25, 2023, by Jake Fillery: Gotham Knights haven't increased the number of suits available by much, but there are still some worthy of getting so that players can glide through and protect Gotham City in style. The best suits in Gotham Knights take inspiration from comics, Elseworld stories, and other assortments of DC history and creativity to make these superhero costumes really pop out when fighting the worst of Gotham's criminals. This update adds the new Gilded Age Suits, information on what characters the suits are available for, where they can be found, which armor will have their desired style, and how they can unlock the style for transmog in Gotham Knights.

15 Gilded Age

How To Unlock: Use The Codes From All Six Issues Of The Batman: Gotham Knights - Gilded City Comic Book (Print or Digital)

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: All issues can be found in online retailer stores or DC Universe: Infinite
  • Armor With Desired Style: Transmog Only

The Gilded Age suit styles are exclusive to those who purchase the Batman: Gotham Knights - Gilded City comic. There is no other way to get these suit styles, but they are pretty fun to look at, considering they feature the iconic and often dark characters of the Bat Family in silly and bright cowboy costumes from the Old West.

These costumes come from a strange Elseworld story, and they certainly do not fit in with the aesthetic of the game, when there are such serious vibes associated with investigating the death of Batman and protecting the city he left behind. At least Nightwing has a cool cowboy hat.

14 New Guard

How To Unlock: Default Suit Upon Starting The Game

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Start A New Game With Chosen Characters
  • Armor With Desired Style: Transmog Only

There’s no requirement to get the New Guard suits other than just starting the game. These are the default suit styles, which start the heroes on their journey. They include Robin’s long coat, Nightwing’s blue chest piece, Batgirl’s purple outfit, and Red Hood’s brown sleeveless hoodie.

It’s the style that has been used for most promotional material for the game. If players want to use the box art costumes straight from the get-go, then they can easily do so, with no requirements needed.

13 Eternal

How To Unlock: Beat Mr. Freeze & Craft The Eternal Suit Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Regulators, Mob, Freaks, Court of Owls, & Watch Missions
  • Armor With Desired Style: Modular Bioelectric, Modular Concussive, Modular Cryogenic, Modular Incendiary & Modular Toxic

The Eternal style outfits seem more “comic book inspired” than the rest, especially when it comes to Robin, who wears a cowl that covers everything but his mouth. It’s much more in line with his appearance as Red Robin. Each outfit for the characters is vastly inspired by the comics and almost brings the fantastical pages to the video game format.

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: League of Shadows, Mob & Regulators Side Ops
  • Armor With Desired Style: Escalation & Regenerator

If players want Gotham to feel more gritty and real, look no further than the Knight Ops costumes. These stylized outfits are fitted for urban warfare, with an emphasis on body armor, pouches, and gear. Colors are dulled to be ready for combat, with Nightwing even growing his hair out.

Around Gotham, Batman has left secret caches. After obtaining all 12, each Knight of Gotham will receive the Knight Ops outfit. However, players will have to be patient, as each cache is exclusive to a different patrol night, and they cannot grab all 12 in one night.

11 Privateer

How To Unlock: Craft The Privateer Style

red hood wearing the privateer suit
  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Court of Owls, Mob, Regulators & Freaks Side Ops
  • Armor With Desired Style: High Ultimate, Survival & Last Stand

The Privateer suit styles feature a lot of heavy overcoats, much like Gotham by Gaslight. These steampunk-inspired outfits make the heroes of Gotham seem from another universe, and certainly out of time. However, they always seem able and willing to do good.

Players will need to craft or find the gear pieces of this suit out in the night of Gotham’s streets and villains to unlock it as a permanent style with alterable colors.

10 Neon Noir

How To Unlock: Craft The Neon Noir Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Mob & Freaks Side Ops
  • Armor With Desired Style: Jumpstart & Status Master

The Neon Noir styles seem very inspired by the attire of those in the Great War, from the dulled color scheme to the fabric used. Each outfit seems like it is not from the modern age, and has the Knights out of their time, and out of their universe.

To obtain the Neon Noir style, players will be reliant on random drops of gear from enemies and caches, and then they can make their character feel even more unique visually speaking.

9 Metal

How To Unlock: Craft The Metal Style

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Mob, Regulators & Freaks Side Ops
  • Armor With Desired Style: Defensive Ability & Predator

Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood may not be bulletproof, but that makes them all the stronger, knowing that they can’t get hit otherwise it will be fatal. Luckily for the Knights, the Metal suit styles look to be entirely protective, like an Iron Man armor for each character.

Sadly, these suits are not bulletproof, so players shouldn’t just run into fights without caution. To look rather metal, players will need to obtain the gear through random drops.

8 Beyond

How To Unlock: Purchase The Deluxe / Collector's Edition Upgrade

batgirl wearing the beyond style
  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Use The Transmog System

The Batman Beyond animated series is the direct inspiration used for these “Beyond” style suits. Each outfit features a heavy coating of black, with the primary color of each character being the focus of their chest symbol. The blue, red, and yellow truly pop on these costumes, with glowing eyes matching the symbol color.

red hood wearing the titan style
  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Mob & Freaks Side Ops
  • Armor With Desired Style: Linked, Momentum & Momentum Ability

Each character has their Knighthood challenge. Once all four characters have completed theirs, players will obtain the Titan outfits. These costumes are a lot slicker, with armor pieces built into the suits, and the bold colors shining through to let criminals know who it is that will give them a beat down.

The name is no lie, as the Titan suits make these characters feel like titans that watch over Gotham City. It’s just another one of the many outfits for the Knights to wear.

6 Year One

How To Unlock: Find All Batarangs

nightwing wearing the year one suit
  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Mob & Regulators Side Ops
  • Armor With Desired Style: Fast Progression

Year One suits in Gotham Knights feel more like they were picked from a clothing store than anything else. Characters like Robin wear hoodies and jackets, with the symbol almost drawn on. It’s like an original suit, with informal attire for doing good.

Around Gotham, Batman has lost a few batarangs along the way. He’s certainly got many of them, and with billions to spend, it is no surprise. Players will need to find all the batarangs around the map to get this suit.

5 Talon

How To Unlock: Find All Talon Caches

nightwing wearing the talon suit
  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: 5 Talon Cache Locations
  • Armor With Desired Style: Transmog Only

These cool suits are inspired by the Talon assassins led by the Court of Owls. Alfred provides players with activities, in which players need to scan murals at different locations. After finding all 5, they can use the Talon outfit.

The beauty of this suit is seen in the fine details of talons and feathers, scaled onto the armor. It’s quite a scary thought, imagining the power of the heroes of Gotham joining the villainous regime of the Court of Owls as Talons.

4 Demon

How To Unlock: Complete Chapter 5 & Craft The Demon Style

nightwing wearing the demon suit
  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: League of Shadows & Mob Side Ops
  • Armor With Desired Style: Initiative & Thrillseeker

Much like the Shinobi suit style, the Demon feels very inspired by Japanese culture. These suits feature a range of sharpness to them, with straps and masks to conceal identities. The dark scheme of these outfits makes them the perfect look for stealth.

To use this style, players will need to craft the suit in said style, to unlock each gear piece necessary. It may not be demonic in the Satanic sense, but it works for the League of Shadows.

3 Shinobi

nightwing wearing the shinobi style
  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: League of Shadows & Mob Side Ops
  • Armor With Desired Style: Relentless & Stealth

There’s a heavy emphasis on Japanese culture with the Shinobi styles. The clear Japanese inspiration makes for an interesting style of clothing for the heroes of Gotham, with both Batgirl and Nightwing wearing a top-knot. Each character feels powerful and respectful of combat.

This suit style requires patience, as they are geared drops restricted to around Case 6, near the end of the game’s story. Playing through the game will unlock the suits, and players will need to complete the challenges before them.

2 Knighthood

How To Unlock: Beat The Game With Character Of Choice

red hood wearing the knighthood style
  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Complete The Game With The Character Players Want The Knighthood Style For
  • Armor With Desired Style: Transmog Only

The Knighthood suits are more in line with Batman’s imagery. They feature a heavy coating of black, with simple colors outlined around the logo of each character. These suits are restricted as a completion reward and can be obtained once the player has completed the game’s story mode.

The Knighthood suits seem to be the next evolution for Gotham Knights. The characters have embraced Batman’s death, and decided to honor him with protection over Gotham, and in their attire.

1 Knightwatch

How To Unlock: Purchase The Deluxe / Collector's Edition Upgrade

  • Available for: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing & Red Hood
  • Found At: Complete Case 1.3, Then Use The Transmog System
  • Armor With Desired Style: Transmog Only

As if Gotham Knights could not take on more of a comic book approach, they go ahead and get the legendary and famed DC Comics CCO, artist, and writer Jim Lee to design a set of suits for each character. Jim Lee is a legend in the comics industry and has been with DC Comics for years, which makes no surprise that his outfits for these characters are straight from the pages.

Tim Drake receives arguably his best look, as do the rest of the characters, with a brightly colored set of suits for each character. Sadly, it is locked behind the Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition of the game’s purchase.
