Without a doubt, Google Stadia shook the gaming world when it announced its wireless platform at GDC 2019. Not only did it promise the power to support a 1,000-player battle royale, but the recommended Google Stadia internet speed isn't entirely demanding either. Following the announcement, though, it's been rather quiet from the tech giant Google, but recently, the company revealed when gamers can expect more information.

This information includes the price reveal, game announcements, release date and other launch info for the Google Stadia platform, and per the official Stadia Twitter account, all of this will be learned over the summer. It's unclear whether it will slowly be dispersed over summer or if multiple showcases would otherwise serve as info dumps over the summer. Many would expect it to have a panel at E3 2019, but if so, it has thus far been the show's best-kept secret.

While waiting for official information, there have been some glimpses into all of the above. Concerning the Google Stadia price, many are expecting it to have a subscription-based model that is competitive with Microsoft and Sony's console subscriptions. This seems like the most reasonable course of action since Stadia players will not need a physical box, but ultimately, that's in Google's hands.

For games, the official announcement could be referring to one of two things: already-released or releasing-soon games destined to be on the Stadia platform at launch, or a reveal of the Stadia's first-party exclusive games. The latter may play a big role in one's decision to check out the platform, yet a mixture of both isn't out of question. It's worth mentioning that several games have been revealed for Stadia already, such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Doom Eternal.

As far as the release date is concerned, the Google Stadia is set to launch sometime in 2019. Barring any delays, it seems like a safe bet that the platform will go live shortly before the holidays following this summer's reveals. Once again, though, this should all be taken with some healthy skepticism prior to any official statements.

Google Stadia will launch in 2019.
