Google Stadia is adding Crowd Choice to its streaming service on October 1, 2020. For those who are streaming games on YouTube through Stadia, viewers will be able to help decide the fate of the player.

Crowd Choice is a feature that creates viewer-interaction with the streamer in a very unique way. As an example of what Crowd Choice can do, if someone were to be playing a game like Mega Man 2, it could allow the viewers to vote on who the streamer would take on next, like Bubble Man.

When it comes to the Crowd Choice that is coming to Stadia, Mega Man 2 isn't one of the playing options, but Dead by Daylight, a new addition to Stadia, is. Baldur's Gate 3 is the other current option for Crowd Choice on Stadia.

In Dead by Daylight, the crowd will be able to decide whether the YouTuber will play this round as a killer or a survivor. After that decision is made, the crowd can then vote on which Dead by Daylight character the streamer will play as. Once the action starts in each game, the viewer goes back to having a hands-off approach. But the action on the screen has a bit more impact if the viewer knows they helped decide some of the strategies, It would be the equivalent of picking the starting QB in a football game as a fan.

Baldur's Gate 3, an RPG that could help redefine the genre, plays a bit differently with Crowd Choice on Stadia. Every single narrative decision can be voted on by the viewer, and the Stadia/YouTube streamer can decide on whether or not to comply with the requests.
