In an era with more avenues to game that ever before, streaming services are becoming more commonplace. Google Stadia put its hat in the ring when it launched in 2019, offering up a unique way to play games. Support for the service continues, and Stadia will get new games like Resident Evil Village throughout 2021. As part of a new blog post, Stadia has shown off some upcoming features coming to the platform.

Even though Google caught the eye of many gamers when it announced the launch of Stadia, many were wary of how the company's venture into game development would pan out. Sadly, less than two years in, Google shuttered Stadia's first party studios, losing veteran executive producer Jade Raymond to Sony. Many Stadia players are concerned that Google could decide to shut down Stadia at any time, but so far it looks like it will continue to support the service for a while.

In an announcement that also revealed how Stadia would finally add a search bar to the site, Google updated players about future upgrades to the streaming services. It shared a design mockup of an upcoming activity feed, which would allow players to share media clips from games. Players will also be able to look through content that other players had posted as well. The layout is subject to change by the time Stadia actually releases the feature.

Plus, players will soon be able to use Stadia through an Android web browser, instead of just through the app, much like Xbox Series X's browser upgrades let it run Stadia. Not every player may want to make use of this way to play Stadia, but it's a nice option to have for those that do.

All in all, it looks like Stadia plans to roll out additional features throughout the year. There will still be many players who are wary to invest in the streaming service given Google's track record with axing products. For the time being, Google looks to be matching what other video game companies like Steam or Xbox are doing with community features.
