GoldenEye 007 Reloaded Screenshots

Just in case you didn't play GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64 when it originally came out in 1997, or again in 2010 when the game was remade for the Nintendo Wii, you will get yet another chance to experience one of the most fun FPS games that has ever come out. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is on its way to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

We recently reported that several domain names for GoldenEye 007: Reloaded had been registered, but now there is actual physical proof that a new game exists. News that a new GoldenEye 007 game was in development originally came from an Amazon listing that has since been removed. Luckily, website Gamekyo managed to collect several screenshots that show exactly what gamers have wanted to see for over 10 years: GoldenEye rendered with next-generation graphics. Our review of the Wii version pegged the game as fun, but also wished that it would see transition to more platforms.

The game has not yet been officially announced yet, and with E3 2011 passed by and Comic-Con 2011 coming up, Activision might make the move to announce the game a midst hundreds of thousands of nerds and gamers this weekend.

Take a look at the gallery below to get an idea of what a truly next-gen GoldenEye can look like.

Updated graphics and multiplayer through Xbox LIVE and PSN should be more than enough reason for people to want to at least investigate GoldenEye whenever it comes out. We obviously have no details regarding the game's story or changes made to gameplay, but if developer Eurocom is still handling the game, expect more adaptations than changes.

While the screenshots do look pretty great, will there be any reason for gamers to want to own the next-gen GoldenEye except for the nostalgia value? There is no doubt that many old-school players will want to at least give it a try, but if Activision (who published the Wii version) charges $60 for the final product, the game could be a hard sell.

Will you be picking up another copy of GoldenEye? How big a factor will price be in your decision?

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded has no release date yet, but will most likely be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
