Releasing alongside the PlayStation 5 earlier this week, Godfall has been something of a mixed bag for fans, many of which have claimed the game is a buggy and unremarkable action title. However, it seems the devs are still dedicated to making the game the best it can possibly be in spite of its Godfall's disappointing review scores.

As of yesterday for the PC and today for the PlayStation 5, a new patch has launched for the game, with the team behind Godfall delivering version 2.0.93 to its legion of players. The new patch brings fixes to the game that players have been after since launch, preventing crashes and generally improving all-around stability.

According to the patch notes, both PlayStation 5 and PC will have fixes that prevent the game from crashing when players get announcements while respawning, stop players from getting stuck in small areas around chests, and adjust the drain ability so it can be used without the weapon art skill. There's also a fix for the "on" and "off" buttons in the settings displaying incorrectly for users in other languages and another for enemies sometimes becoming unresponsive after the player respawns, while the Tower of Trials no longer resets the player's respawn counter after each trial.

On PC specifically, the patch also addresses an issue that allegedly saw the game crash when the player selected which language to play the game in. It seems like Counterplay Games is already attempting to ensure Godfall is a smoother experience for the countless players jumping into the game on PC and PlayStation 5 this holiday. Seeing as some of the biggest complaints made against the game surrounded bugs and crashes, the new update is sure to be essential for those continuing to adventure through Godfall's high-concept fantasy world. As for what comes next, the studio claims it will "be digging into quality of life fixes and what the future of the game looks like."

For those who haven't been keeping up with Godfall, the game sees players assume the role of a member of an exalted order of warriors known as the Valorian Knights. Wielding a huge arsenal of weapons, they must traverse across a large world to aid in preventing a devastating apocalypse, battling intimidating enemies in intense, large-scale battles. Over the last few months, its been seen by many as a tech demo for the power of the PlayStation 5, boasting 4k visuals and amazing load times befitting of such a large jump in hardware.

Unfortunately, its reception hasn't quite equaled its PlayStation 5 peers, with the game currently boasting a 63 on Metacritic. As it stands, Spider-Man: Miles Morales currently has an 85 on the site, Sackboy: A Big Adventure has a 78, and Demon's Souls has a 93.

Godfall is available now on PC and PlayStation 5.
