With just over a month until its release, new details have emerged about the upcoming looter-slasher Godfall, informing fans as to what can be expected as they beat the game.

One of the many PS5 launch games, details regarding Godfall were discussed by technical producer Dick Heyne in an interview going over the ins and outs of Godfall's post-game content once players defeat Macros.

According to Heyne in an interview with GameByte, once the main story is completed, a new mode will be available to fans in the Monolith called the Tower of Trials. The Tower of Trials features rogue-like gameplay that, like the other modes in the game, can be played solo or in co-op. The mode features combat trials with progressively difficult enemies and unique rewards as players progress and earn keys to floors, getting closer to the center of the Monolith. Once players leave the mode, progress will be reset to zero.

As players progress through the mode, new doorways will open up offering different rewards, giving players the option to choose different reward types based on what doors are unlocked. Once the challenge behind the door is completed, players will earn the reward and can choose to keep going through the trial or exit the mode.

While Godfall has a major focus on online co-op, Counterplay Games has clarified that Godfall can be played solo without the need of a PlayStation Plus membership. This is great news for fans who aren't subscribed to the online service, especially as the game will be priced at $69.99 USD, a new trend in modern games that may become a standard.

Despite not needing PlayStation Plus, it's not all good news for fans looking forward to the game. Much like the recently released Marvel's Avengers, Godfall requires an online connection to play through, as all save data for the game is stored server-side to prevent any tampering by players. The need of an online connection does not mean Godfall will have any microtransactions, though, as Counterplay has stated the game will only have DLC but no details have been released relating to the matter.

Godfall's launch may be soon, but players can still pre-order the game and receive the bonus items on launch day. Counterplay Games announced earlier in the year that players who pre-order will receive the coveted Zer0 sword from Borderlands 3 along with bonus skins and a starter pack containing some normally earned items. While most of the bonuses are cosmetic, the starter pack should give new players a bit of a leg up on enemies on launch day.

Godfall launches November 12 on PC and PS5.
