Towards the start of this month, to promote the imminent release of Godfall, GearBox sponsored the forging of one of Godfall's weapons in real life. Now, with the game's release, players must make their way through the game itself.

There are some outspoken concerns with Godfall in its current state, but one of the biggest ones is the grind. Despite not being a live service game, Godfall is built as a loot game. To extend the time players spend with it, Godfall has level gates in the form of Sigil requirements for its missions (all of them). Here's how to get Earth Sigils in order to proceed through the game.

RELATED: Godfall Review Roundup

Step 1: Understanding Sigils

Something many players wish they had known before buying Godfall is the existence of Sigils. These are keys to unlock new missions, and they can only be obtained by completing missions. In theory, this is nothing new. It essentially makes Godfall a collect-a-thon. However, rather than puzzles or side missions, Sigils tend to be hidden behind standard missions. Players must grind for them on the regular. Some of these are Earth Sigils, found in the Earth Realm.

Step 2: Getting Earth Sigils

In order to get Earth Sigils, players will have to complete missions in the Earth Realm. There are no shortcuts, easy exploits, or special tricks for getting more Earth Sigils. These are only given at the end of a mission, too, so players cannot bail upon finding Sigils in the middle of a mission; it won't happen. The only Godfall pro tip that can be truly given here is to try the Hunt missions. These are repeatable, and an early one called the Alpha Rancor Hunt gives two Earth Sigils on completion. Expect to return to it many times before the game is over.

Unfortunately, some feel that the Sigils highlight Godfall's two big looter mistakes. Not only do they make the game grindier, they also give players plenty of time to realize how little difference loot makes. If the loot unlocked ways for players to get more Sigils, it would solve both problems at once.

Hopefully, if fixes ever come along for Godfall, the Sigils will be reworked somewhat. Perhaps the amount necessary will be lowered, or there will be more fun ways to obtain them. For now though, all players can do is grind. If this means fighting a lot of Alpha Rancors, remember: parry the attack that makes it glow blue, don't stand right in front of it, and strafe a lot.

Godfall is available for the PS5.
