An artist has likely made their nephew's day by custom-painting God of War art onto a pair of shoes. The impressive illustration would likely gain praise among fans even on with a more standard medium, but given how unique it is, many are envious of the recipient of this God of War art.
God of War: Ragnarok released in 2022 to critical and fan acclaim, serving as a worthy successor to the 2018 God of War reboot of the franchise. Hype surrounding the series has only risen since, with a God of War TV adaptation and the promise of future games looking to new areas and pantheons in the future.
Now one talented artist has illustrated the iconic Kratos and his son, Atreus, onto a pair of Vans shoes. The artist oXFallenAngelXo shared photos of their creation on the God of War subreddit, where they quickly accumulated praise from viewers in the comments. One shoe features Kratos, while the other focuses on his son. The design and shading are excellent, and the color brightly pops despite the unusual canvas it was painted on.

Fellow fans in the comments have expressed how impressed they are with oXFallenAngelXo's creation and joked about wishing they were their nephew so they could get God of War shoes of their own. oXFallenAngelXo has previously shared other pairs of Vans that they've added illustrations to, featuring characters from Spider-Man and anime My Hero Academia. oXFallenAngelXo notes that it took them somewhere between 10 to 15 hours to complete the God of War design. Some voiced concerns about the design rubbing off or being damaged from the unique video game shoes being worn, and suggested that they wouldn't actually wear them in order to protect the design. However, the artist noted that they use an acrylic finisher over the art to help protect it.

One fan suggested that Cory Barlog, who has been a major part of the series' development since its inception on the PlayStation 2, needed to see the God of War shoes.
