Just like its predecessor from 2018, God of War Ragnarok has six different stats that players need to keep track of. These stats are Strength, Defense, Runic, Vitality, Cooldown, and Luck. Each of these six stats in God of War Ragnarok have an element of gameplay that they influence.

Some like Strength and Defense are more obvious as they improve how much damage players deal and how much they receive respectively. But some of these stats are not as clear with what they do for players, and a good example of this is Luck. This guide will show players what Luck does along with how they can get more of it.

What Does Luck Do?

In God of War Ragnarok, Luck is abbreviated to LCK and is located at the bottom.of the stats listed on the Armor tab. While it may seem like a forgettable stat compared to stats like Cooldown or Vitality, Luck is an important stat that players should take into consideration. Especially since there are other means of increasing maximum health. As described in the game, Luck increases rewards and increases the probability of chance abilities triggering more often.

What Rewards are Improved by Luck?

While the stat help sheet in God of War Ragnarok gives a brief explanation about what Luck does, it is rather vague as to what rewards are influenced by Luck. Among all the rewards that can be found, Luck only affects two things. The first reward is Hacksilver and the second one is XP (Experience Points). With the Luck stat, players will get more Hacksilver and EXP.

Getting more XP is a significant advantage for God of War Ragnarok players, as it allows them to unlock more skills and abilities for the impressive arsenal that Kratos wields against his foes. Getting more Hacksilver is even better as that is how players upgrade their armor or forge new armor all together.

Unfortunately, Luck has no effect on crafting material or upgrade items for weapons like Leviathan Axe or Kratos's signature weapons the Blades of Chaos. Luck also has no effect on rewards from chests that are not Hacksilver.

How to Get More Luck

Just like with the previous game, the primary way that players will get more of any stat is through armor. There are many different sets of armor that can be crafted throughout Kratos and Atreus's new journey. The stats will vary, but all armor sets typically have two or more stats that they provide increases for. Sometimes one of those stats will be Luck.

In fact, if players pre-ordered God of War Ragnarok they receive a set of armor for Kratos that has a few points of luck right out of the gate. Armor that has the luck stat can be upgraded further to increase that stat, provided that players have the materials to upgrade.

Upgrading Armor also increases what level Kratos is as well. Parts for weapons like Axe Pommels can also increase Luck as well. So as players progress through the game, they will be able to improve their Luck stat and increase the benefit provided by it.

God of War Ragnarok is available now for PS4 and PS5.
