God of War was one of the most defining games of 2018, a reawakening of a classic PlayStation series that got everyone talking. Though news around it has not always been good, as the gameplay engineer behind the Leviathan Axe died recently. Even so, players eagerly await the coming of its sequel.

Tentatively known by the subtitle Ragnarok, God of War's sequel is one of the most hotly anticipated games of all the known triple A titles in development at the moment. The game really doesn't need to do much but deliver more of what made the previous title great, and one company's involvement makes it likely that will happen.

A company called Valkyrie Entertainment is working on God of War: Ragnarok. Valkyrie is perhaps the most appropriately named company to help out on a project that takes place within the world of old Norse mythology, and this is not its first rodeo by any means. Valkyrie helped out on the previous God of War in 2018 as well, so the quality of its work is on display. With God of War: Ragnarok leaked for PlayStation Showcase 2021, it's likely the company's work will be on display again soon.

As of this article, the full extent of Valkyrie's contributions to God of War: Ragnarok is unknown. What is known is that Valkyrie is aiding with 3D environment art and possibly character design. If Valkyrie contributed significantly to these aspects in God of War (2018) as well, then it's safe to say that Ragnarok will look very good. The amazing visuals were some of the best parts of God of War, a game packed full of good parts. Seeing the visuals again is one of many reasons players need a PS5 upgrade for God of War.

This is nowhere near Valkyrie's second time in the saddle either, as the company is in somewhat high demand. At least, if the fact it also worked on the recent Aliens: Fireteam Elite is any indication. While Aliens: Fireteam Elite is definitely a mixed bag right now, its visuals are nothing to scoff at.

Whether or not the full extent of Valkyrie's contributions will be fully released to the public is not known at this time. Still, with a company that has a proven track record creating good visuals working on it, it's good to know that Ragnarok will likely match or surpass its predecessor in shine. Odds are any trailers will only help to keep God of War: Ragnarok as one of the most anticipated triple A games in development.

God of War is available on PS4.
