God of War remains as one of the biggest names on the PlayStation console, boosting Kratos to mascot status alongside Spider-Man and Horizon’s Aloy. More will eventually come as Sony establishes or bring back IPs, but Kratos will likely remain. This is one reason why the decision to bring God of War to PC is such a smart move, as those who have somehow avoided it until now may very well invest in a PS5 to play God of War Ragnarok on release.

Recently, fans also learned that God of War’s PC port wasn’t being developed by Santa Monica but by a specialist studio known as Jetpack Interactive. Santa Monica Studio IS overseeing the port though and neither Santa Monica nor Sony would dare let a bad port out into the wild on one of its most premier brands. So, fans have nothing to really worry about. With God of War Ragnarok and Santa Monica Studio’s new unannounced game, it’s clear the studio already has a lot on its plate.

Yet, it seems that PC porting process may very well extend to God of War Ragnarok as well. After the reveal that Jetpack was working on God of War, internet sleuths dug through the company’s LinkedIn and discovered an employee named Warren Lee who lists God of War Ragnarok as a project of his. This likely means one of two things.

First, it could simply be human error. Lee may have made some mistake and accidentally typed Ragnarok to follow God of War, as it’s a very simple continuance mistake. Secondly, however, it could be that Jetpack Interactive is handling a PC port of God of War Ragnarok alongside or after God of War as well. For that, there’s a could of things worth noting. This doesn’t mean, for example, that God of War Ragnarok releases day and date on PC, as rumors have alleged Bloodborne’s PC port is complete but has been held for a long time. This could be God of War Ragnarok's fate too.

Secondly, many were curious about why Sony’s recently acquired port developer Nixxes wasn’t working on God of War, and it could be that there is some contract for Jetpack to do the God of War franchise, while Nixxes works on other PlayStation PC ports. While it may seem odd right now, missing context is likely the answer, and if it speeds up PlayStation PC ports, that's only good for Sony.

Right now, there’s a lot up in the air. Fans do know that God of War Ragnarok releases next year, that God of War is coming to PC, and that should be enough for now.
