Favors are the many side quests that players can venture on in God of War Ragnarok. One such favor is Path of Destruction, a favor that players can come across in the Jungle region of Vanaheim. In this favor, Kratos will discover evidence that a Drake has been feeding and causing havoc within the region, and try to take it down.
While the favor is relatively simple compared to some of God of War Ragnarok's other quests, there are more than a few moments that may leave players stumped on how to move forward. Several rewards await players who complete this favor, including the Greater Regenerating Essence enchantment and several crafting tools, making it well worth the effort to complete the favor.
How to Complete Path of Destruction Favor in God of War Ragnarok
In order to begin Path of Destruction, players will first have to have unlocked the Jungle region in Vanaheim and have completed the favor Return of the River. The Path of Destruction favor can also only begin during the day.
Travel to the Jungle through the Mystic Gateway. From here, get inside the boat and turn right. After traveling downstream for some time, players will eventually come across a dock on the right with a blue flag. Exit the boat here and climb up the stairs.
At the top, players will find an open area. There may be some trolls and Nokken to defeat here if the player hasn't come across this area before. Once defeated, use the Blades of Chaos to clear the debris from the bridge directly ahead. Use the blades to swing across the bridge, then keep moving forward.
After following the path ahead, players will eventually come across a large stone structure. There will be a track directly in front of the structure. Inspect the track, then shimmy through to the other side of the structure. Doing so will trigger the Path of Destruction favor.
Nearby in the open area, there will be a large hole. Jump down the hole to reach the next area of the favor.
Jumping down, players will find themselves in a cage with a puzzle involving a wood panel and a gear.
Use the Leviathan Axe to spin the wooden panel enough to lift the cage doors. Once lifted, summon the axe and quickly throw it at the gear. Once leaving the cage, however, be sure to keep the axe frozen on the gear.
Afterwards, travel down the hallway and open the gate at the end, leading to a large open area. Here, there will be a couple of Gullons ready to attack Kratos. Instead of killing them, return to the cage, ensuring that the Gullons are following. Once the Gullons are in the parameter of the cage, summon Kratos' axe, trapping them inside the cage. If any stragglers are left outside, kill them; they don't all have to be inside the cage.
Just outside the cage will be a chain. Pull on the chain to lift the platform back to the surface, which will summon the Drake above. Return outside and turn left, following the pathway that leads back to the surface.
Above, players will find another boat. Get inside the boat, and return to the dock from before. From here, players should traverse the same path they used to first arrive at the Path of Destruction favor starting area.
Once arriving at the starting area, a large Drake known as the Slag Horn will be waiting. When players first return to the area, the Slag Horn won't notice Kratos, giving the player a slight advantage. The Slag Horn is vulnerable to the Draupnir Spear on its legs. Throw the Draupnir Spear on its weak point and use the explosive to attack first.
The Slag Horn may be a difficult boss to beat. Stick to its side and focus on wounding its legs, blocking or dodging attacks from its mouth, tusk, and tail. Dodge backward to avoid its slam attacks, since these are unblockable. Defeating the Slag Horn will complete the favor.
