Though combat and story are probably the most important things in God of War Ragnarok, the game also features plenty of puzzles for players to figure out. These mainly come in the form of Nornir Chests, which, much like in the previous God of War game, contain special items which can be used to permanently increase Kratos' health and Spartan Rage meters.

There are 35 Nornir Chests in God of War Ragnarok, though players will only need to find 30 in order to max out both of their meters and unlock the associated trophy. They'll be able to find one of them in the Dragon Beach area of Svartalfheim and will need to solve a simple yet potentially challenging puzzle in order to get it open and gain access to the treasure inside.

How to Unlock the Dragon Beach Nornir Chest

Players will be able to find the Dragon Beach Nornir Chest during the game's second chapter, though most probably won't make their way out that way until their return to Svartalfheim much later on in the game. Whenever they get there, players will be able to find the chest right on the beach that they dock their boat on over on the left-hand side near some steep rocks and a wooden structure.

In order to open the chest, players will need to break three pots with runes on them. The first of these can be found to the right of the chest behind a water geyser, though the nearby metal railings make it impossible to hit from this angle. Instead, players should follow the wall around to their right until they're behind the dragon statue, as they'll be able to hit the pot with either the Leviathan Axe or the Draupnir spear once there.

The next pot can be found over near the water opposite the Dragon Beach Nornir Chest and is once again hidden behind a water geyser. Players can use the Leviathan Axe to freeze the water if they like, but it's much easier to just hurl the axe or a few Draupnir spears into the center of the geyser until they destroy the pot, as players don't need to be able to see the pot in order to be able to break it.

The same goes for the final pot, which is hidden by another water geyser behind the Dragon Beach Nornir Chest. Once this third pot is broken, players will be able to open the Nornir Chest, inside of which they'll find either an Idunn Apple or a Horn of Blood Mead (unless they have already found and opened 30 Nornir Chests). Apples can be used to permanently increase Kratos' maximum health while horns will increase the size of his Spartan Rage meter.

God of War Ragnarok is available now for PS4 and PS5.
