Some fans state that the code for the game was missing from their bundle, while others got the PS4 version despite buying the special edition for PS5. God of War Ragnarok on PS4 costs $60 as opposed to $70 for the PS5 counterpart, so these players will now have to pay an extra $10 to upgrade to the PS5 version.

One player even got two codes for DLC items instead of the game, and some others received the Jotnar edition without the steelbook case. Fans have created a new Twitter account to share these findings with Santa Monica Studio as more gamers report issues with their special editions of Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok on PS5 comes with various advantages over the PS4 version including support for higher resolutions and frame rates, and DualSense features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. So, users who got a PS4 code will probably wait to receive the correct one and play the PS5 version. However, some may be tempted to pay the extra amount and start playing the current-gen version right now.

There is a lot of hype surrounding God of War Ragnarok, so it’s disappointing to see that some fans will have to wait even longer to play the game. This hype was met with critical acclaim, as God of War Ragnarok is currently the highest-rated first-party PS5 game on Metacritic.

God of War Ragnarok is now available on PS4 and PS5.
