Sony's God of War series has spanned over a decade following Kratos' journey through different pantheons, taking the gods down one at a time. The success of the series continues to grow with the upcoming installment of Kratos and Atreus' journey through the Norse mythological scape in the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok.

Lately, God of War has received much attention between the controversy on Thor's looks in the God of War: Ragnarok trailer and the announcement of God of War being ported over to PC early next year. The new game will follow Kratos and Atreus as they figure out Atreus' true purpose and finish their adventures in the Norse saga. Since the announcement, fans have shown off their concept designs for gods who have not appeared yet and the two main protagonists.

Many have taken to Reddit to show off their superb skill and fan-art creations, like the user who shared their concept fan-art for what Odin might look like in God of War: Ragnarok. Other users, like RammsteinAro, have created the main characters in astonishing detail that looks like it could have come straight from an artist working on the game. The drawing of the older Atreus from Ragnarok looks digitally perfected but was created with Faber Castell color pencils, showing off the amount of skill the artist has. The image is placed between the pencils to represent what they are capable of creating perfectly and the vast color spectrum used.

The vivid colors and details capture the character's maturity between the two God of War installments. This older Atreus is seen with battle scars on his face and a battle-ready expression, much like the same war expression his father wears. Even the feathers on the arrows and the fur are detailed perfectly in the masterpiece. As seen in the God of War: Ragnarok trailer, this older Atreus will play a more prominent role in helping Kratos in battle as they continue to the Norse apocalypse.

Kratos has changed a lot throughout the games as he adventures through different pantheons, later accompanied by a son surrounded by mystery. Fans have been eager to learn the truth behind Atreus' purpose and destiny as he travels through the Norse myth with his father in God of War: Ragnarok. Those with a Playstation Now subscription can currently play the God of War game to catch up on the story leading up to the last installment in the Norse saga.

God of War: Ragnarok is scheduled for release on the PS4 and PS5 in 2022.
