God of War's PC port has seen massive success since its launch, with both sales and player numbers going through the roof. After God of War's incredible performance on consoles, a solid PC launch was expected, but the PC launch was near-perfect, marking a rare smooth transition from console to PC that developers can sometimes struggle with.

Along with its marked commercial success, God of War PC port reviews are in, and many of them are glowing and congratulatory. However, the game is not entirely without flaw, as some users have been experiencing issues dealing with UI and UX elements.

Luckily, these issues tend to be small, and have nothing to do with pushing God of War's 4K graphics to their limit. Instead, the issues have more to do with quality of life and smaller settings issues. However, though the problems are small, they can be annoying for players to work around, which is why the game has received a patch addressing them.

This patch comes shortly after a God of War update that fixed Atreus issues, among other changes. The Atreus patch also added a DLSS slider, allowing players to push the graphics even further. However, that caused problems with render scaling. Fortunately, this has been fixed in the latest patch. Another fix changes the game window so that it interacts with task bars correctly. Some players reported the game's audio playing when tabbed out, and that has also been fixed. Lastly, the HDR and SDR brightness levels and settings will no longer affect one another, allowing players to more specifically customize their preferences.

Along with fixes, the new patch brings some new features that improve quality of life for PC players. For example, the game now detects the type of controller players are using, mapping its commands to match the buttons players need to press. Also, players can now minimize the game and reopen it to restore focus to the game. Another change is that the game will display an error message to players if a problem is encountered with a save file. Lastly, a new precision mouse mode has been added to the game, offering a more precise conversion from mouse movement to camera movement. However, this last feature should not be used with any aim assist settings, as it can mess with the movement conversion.

With a successful PC launch and constant updates being released, God of War's PC port is looking to be a well-rounded success story. Now that the game has launched, many players are trying out mods, such as a hilarious one that adds new voice lines to God of War. Continued developer support as well as support from the community will ensure that this smash hit continues to see success for a long time.

God of War is now available for PC and PS4.
