God of War has been inspiring its players since the first game's release back in 2005. With the series revitalized in 2018, the community has not been short on content to enjoy and pay tribute to. Through impressive cosplays and item recreations to paintings and clips, players have found a wide variety of methods to do so. In the latest display of this devotion to the God of War franchise, one player chose to get an impressive Mimir tattoo.

God of War from 2018 took Kratos north of his normal realm and brought the character into the world of Norse mythology. The character known as Mimir, sometimes referred to as Head by Kratos, was inspired by the intelligent but beheaded figure of the same name from Norse stories who often advised Odin.

The tattoo resides on u/LiamThawne's leg and the artwork is immediately recognizable for anyone familiar with God of War. Mimir's face is recreated in impressive detail with the Bifrost crystal in his right eye blazing. The runes on his head are perfectly legible while the dark lines on his face are put into beautiful contrast with light touches throughout the tattoo. Mirmir is brought along with Kratos in the game and, now, will follow u/LiamThawne. Overall, this artwork on u/LiamThawne's leg is a cool tribute to one of the more interesting character's in God of War and certainly one of the most memorable.

With God of War 2 being delayed until 2022, this tattoo is a welcome reminder that the series is worth the wait. There is good reason for players to feel attached enough to the God of War games to commit to such impressive tributes. The characters, the world, and the story of 2018's God of War were all right on the mark and it shows in the outpouring of positive reviews and feedback.

Though tattoos are not for everyone, it is hard to argue that this one is anything but impressive. The detail throughout the tattoo is a testament to the artist who, unfortunately, isn't mentioned in the post. The face looks as though it was brought right out of the game itself and the skill and time that this tattoo required should earn the artist the respect of anyone.

There will always be those who don't connect with the God of War series or with tattoos in general, however. There are certain genres and art styles that just hit people the wrong way. Either way u/LiamThawne got exactly what they were looking for with this tattoo and this post should remind those waiting for the next game to remain patient. The quality has always been worth the wait for most God of War games.

God of War is available on PS4 and PS5 via backward compatibility.
