In recent years especially, the God of War series has reached new heights in terms of its popularity. Following the release of the most recent installment, many new players have been introduced to God of War and as a result, the series has been celebrated all over the world by fans through a variety of different means. Although, one fan has created an homage to the main character of God of War using an unexpected form factor.

2018's God of War brought a lot of new elements to the table. From Kratos' more mature and wiser characterization, to the induction of Kratos' son Atreus, God of War even featured a one-shot camera approach that many other AAA games have begun to adopt. Many fans have taken to this new version of the franchise to the point where monuments to the game have popped up all over the world.

A Reddit user named minekiplier encountered a gigantic sand sculpture of Kratos in his updated character design. The level of detail on the sculpture is extraordinary, considering how in addition to having Kratos' beard look incredibly detailed, there are even lines in his face to indicate his age. Combined with the shoulder pauldron and piercing eyes, the only thing that's missing from this sculpture is the outline of Kratos' tattoos going along his face and torso.

In any case, it's amazing just how much ingenutity and dedication fans have put into certain pieces of content since the release of the newest God of War. While not exactly similar in scale to the sand sculpture of Kratos, one fan managed to make an animatronic of Mimir's head that moves on its own and recites pieces of dialogue from the game.

The fact that fans are still sharing and producing content based on God of War a full three years after its initial release is astounding. Many users have also taken to crossing God of War over with other popular games released years afterwards. Take for example, one fan who made crossover art that featured Kratos as a character in Hades.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for God of War moving forward. While a lot has been shown off already in terms of God of War: Ragnarok, players don't know for sure when the game will release, other than sometime next year. Until then, there will still likely be a multitude of fan-made God of War content surfacing online in the meantime.

God of War: Ragnarok is scheduled for release in 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
