Since its release nearly four years ago, Santa Monica Studio's God of War has gathered widespread critical acclaim and numerous accolades. Unlike other titles from the franchise that were based on Greek mythology, God of War is based on Norse mythology and set in the realm of Midgard. Its sequel, God of War Ragnarok, will build on this existing premise and take place roughly three years after the first game's events.

God of War Ragnarok has been subject to numerous rumors like other popular upcoming games. Recently, a rumor circulated on the internet about a possible God of War Ragnarok trailer that will come out later this month. Meanwhile, many gamers have been speculating about the game's story and believe God of War Ragnarok might not have a happy ending.

While the gaming community waits for God of War Ragnarok, a particular section engages in activities like making fan art and posters. One God Of War player created a poster depicting many characters from the game, including Kratos and Atreus. In comparison, other fans have resorted to different means to show their appreciation, like amassing game-related collectibles. Reddit user SLUG_927 is one such gamer who apparently has a vast collection of God of War items, and they recently added another noteworthy weapon from Norse mythology to their collection. This is Mjolnir, the mighty hammer of the thunder god Thor. The Redditor uploaded an image that shows a remarkable replica of the divine hammer. Click here for the rest of the images.

SLUG_927's Mjolnir looks exactly like the one appearing in the God of War franchise, unlike the one shown in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Notably, the creator of this Mjolnir paid special attention to detail and mapped out even the tiniest intricacies. Mjolnir ultimately ends up with Thor. However, its backstory varies slightly in original Norse mythology from that recounted in God of War. In the game, the hammer is created by Huldra Brothers Brok and Sindri, who also made the Leviathan Axe, one of Kratos' weapons.

Speaking of weapons, gamers are also speculating Kratos might have a new weapon in God of War Ragnarok. Many fans hypothesize Kratos could wield a wand-like weapon known as Laevateinn, while others think Odin's spear, Gungnir, could make an appearance.

God of War Ragnarok has been delayed multiple times in the past, mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, most industry experts believe God of War Ragnarok will not be delayed again and will adhere to its stipulated time frame.

God of War is available now on PS4 and PC.
