Though much of the conversation about PlayStation 4 exclusive titles is currently taken up by Naughty Dog's The Last of Us 2, which has continued to break sales records despite a mixed-to-negative reception from many fans, Santa Monica Studio's God of War (2018) is still held in overwhelmingly high regard for reinventing the long-time series of hack-and-slash games with a harrowing, personal story. For those who don't want to sit through the game to get that story, soon there will be an easier way to consume it once a God of War children's book is released.

B is for Boy is a "humorous take" on God of War in the form of an ABC book for adults according to its listing on Amazon, where it can currently be pre-ordered for its September 1 release. It was announced earlier today by publisher Insight Editions, written by Andrea Robinson; who worked on a historical grimoire chronicling the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Insight; and illustrated by Romina Tempest.

God of War was a resounding success for Sony and Santa Monica Studio upon release, selling over three million copies in its first three days on the market, so it only makes sense to capitalize on that. A children's book may not be what all fans would have expected, particularly one that was described by Tempest as only being kid-friendly "for the most part" in an interview with Polygon, but it certainly looks cute enough for audiences of all ages.

This God of War children's book is not the only auxiliary piece of media in the works for the PS4 exclusive title. Earlier this year, Dark Horse Comics announced a faithful recreation of Atreus' journal called God of War: Lore And Legends will also be releasing in September.

Many are still waiting to hear whether a sequel to the successful soft-reboot will be coming anytime soon, as it was one of the biggest PS4 successes missing from Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event. That said, a sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn was announced during the event last month, so there is still hope that Santa Monica Studio will follow suit.

Some fans have been gearing up for that anticipated sequel with related creations of their own. For instance, a Spanish God of War fan-page created a custom PS5 design based on Kratos' Leviathan Axe and other weapons.

God of War is available now, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
