Goat Simulator 3 is not a serious game, nor is it trying to be. It's a chaotic sandbox that started as a parody of realistic simulation games, like Microsoft Flight Simulator or the Farming Simulator series. Similarly, Goat Simulator 3 is not a sophisticated game either, nor is it trying to be. Its humor is focused more on over-the-top slapstick and pop culture parodies.

Fittingly, the games achievements tend less toward intense challenges and more toward hidden jokes. The "Nasty" achievement is the game indulging in some, pun intended, crude humor.

Goat Simulator 3's Dirty Joke

Goat Simulator Fossil Fuel Station

Players can earn the nasty achievement fairly early in the game after they get their first tower. They need to go to the fossil fuel station on the west end of Fairmeadows Ranch. Players can recognize it from the yellow dinosaur mascot on the building's roof, pouring gasoline like a fountain. That mascot is how players get the achievement.

Players first have to get their goat on the roof. There are multiple ways to do this; with Goat Simulator 3's loose physics, the easiest way is to go around back and use the yellow lift behind the building as a springboard. From there, players need to stand on the circular platform beneath the mascot's legs and then interact with it, either by licking or headbutting. The player's goat will get blasted with crude oil from the dinosaur's backside, netting them the achievement.

It's not the most sophisticated joke, but as was stated earlier, Goat Simulator 3 isn't trying for sophistication. Besides, the game has a shotgun approach to jokes going for it. If one doesn't land, then Goat Simulator 3 has another gag or parody waiting in the wings. Even if someone finds the game's writing offputting, they'll probably find a lot of self-made humor from the game's co-op mode.

Overall, the Goat Simulator franchise is a strange beast, almost as strange as its titular goats. Its proverbial ingredients are pretty simple, and yet it's spawned multiple games, the first with plenty of DLC and the next likely to follow. It's become a mainstay on YouTube and Twitch, the game's bombastic action a good source of comedic reaction for streamers and influencers. Only time will tell how the new title fares.

Goat Simulator 3 is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
