Glitchpunk has a few bugs present at launch, but as an early access game, that’s to be expected. Some are actually working in players’ favor, extending timers and disregarding kill counts. Others are causing missions in the action-heavy title to become unplayable.

If the Reaper gang contract “Love Carries a Gun” is accepted, players will have to complete a few different tasks for its leader. The problem with the mission becomes apparent when the final area is reached: four incredibly difficult enemies are spawning for some, killing them instantly.

How to Complete Love Carries a Gun Mission

What makes mission-specific issues like this so frustrating, is that there are no autosaves when tasks are completed during a contract. In fact, there are no autosaves in this early access version at all, forcing players to manually save in Glitchpunk. If this bug occurs, players will have to start the mission from the very beginning if they die.

There is no fix for the issue yet, but there is a workaround. Before starting the mission, players should travel to an Aegis item vendor and purchase at least one. It costs $800, but the price is worth it. It stops players from receiving any damage (except from vehicles) for a short time.

To complete the “Love Carries a Gun” mission, players should activate an Aegis item with Q (LB/L1 on controllers) right before these deadly NPCs spawn. It should then be easier to complete the contract after, and players can get on with the Cyberpunk-themed story.

The Aegis item can be bought from the blue symbols on the map that look like shields being destroyed. The handy item is also a great purchase for players who are struggling with any part of the top-down adventure. The cost can even be halved to $400 if players buy the correct Module in Glitchpunk.

Another great item to purchase for successfully completing contracts is the Gyges Module. Using one stops the police from chasing players for a short while, making it a great way to quickly lower the Wanted Level. Gyges Modules can be bought from the blindfolded man icon.

The first patch for Glitchpunk is planned for release a month after launch, and will add a new city to explore. Better controller support, and fixes for mission-breaking bugs like escortees and VIPs getting stuck would go a long way to improving the indie game.

Glitchpunk is out now on early access for PC.
