PlayStation 5 is shaping up to have a great 2022. Many fully exclusive titles such as Horizon Forbidden West and God of War: Ragnarok are on the way, and the timed exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo coming out this year. Although initially slated to come out in 2021, Ghostwire: Tokyo was delayed into Spring 2022. Unfortunately, no specific day or month has been listed, so it's possible the title can come out anytime between March and June.

Those interested in Developer Tango Gameworks’ Ghostwire: Tokyo should feel optimistic, though, as the title was just rated in Korea. Just last month, Ghostwire: Tokyo was also rated in Brazil, and although no new information or release date was spotted, the ratings suggest the PlayStation 5 exclusive is making steady progress.

According to the official GRAC site, Ghostwire: Tokyo was rated 15. As previously mentioned, not much new information was garnered from the rating, but it’s likely that the age 15 rating was given due to the violence depicted in the game. Judging from the rating, however, it makes sense this would be rated lower than the traditional horror title, as it was confirmed a while back that Ghostwire: Tokyo would be more of an action-adventure game than a horror title.

From what has been shown so far, though, it does still look like Ghostwire: Tokyo will have spooky elements through the Yokai that players will be facing off against. That being said, due to the setting and the main character’s unique ability, it doesn’t seem as though the Yokai will be as scary as traditional horror game enemies when they appear throughout the game.

With early 2022 being as stacked as it is, and Ghostwire: Tokyo currently set to be released sometime in Spring, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the title will come out towards the latter part of that release window. Although the game seems to be making steady progress as inferred from the age ratings, there is still a whole lot about Tango Gameworks' new IP that gamers don’t know about.

The last Ghostwire: Tokyo trailer came back in September 2021, and although it gave fans more context about the story as well as new gameplay footage, the abilities shown throughout and the traversal of the environment are still a mystery. That mystery, however, is part of the interest that surrounds Ghostwire: Tokyo. Despite limited information being shared as the release date draws near, according to the reception of the footage shown so far, many fans can’t wait to get their hands on this game when it releases.

Ghostwire: Tokyo launches in Spring 2022 on PC and PS5.
