Upon finding the parts needed to repair Rinko's motorbike, Ghostwire: Tokyo players will finally be able to make their way over to Tokyo Tower to confront Hannya. If they complete the "After the End" side mission before doing so, they'll be treated to a special cut-scene involving Rinko. Once it's over, they'll then come face to face with Okina; whose body once contained the spirit of Hannya's dead wife.

Rather than fighting Akito and KK in her regular form, however, Okina will transform into a giant spider called Tsuchigumo, which is based on the Japanese Yokai of the same name. The fight itself has two distinct phases, with players needing to remove two cores in order to finally bring her down. It's not the most taxing boss fight ever, but this big spider can do some big damage if players aren't careful.

How to Beat Okina in Ghostwire: Tokyo

In order to defeat Okina, Ghostwire: Tokyo players will need to pull out her two cores, which are located in her mouth and her abdomen. Although both are clearly visible right from the get-go, players will need to damage them quite a bit before they'll be able to pull them out. This can be achieved using either the bow or Ethereal arts, with Wind and Flame attacks being particularly effective.

Compared to some of Ghostwire: Tokyo's previous boss fights and those which are still to come, the fight with Okina is a little different in that she doesn't move around all that much. This can make dodging her attacks considerably easier, providing, that is, that players know what to look out for. The bulk of her attacks are physical, though there are a couple of projectile attacks that players will need to keep an eye out for as well.

Okina's physical attacks can all be avoided by moving from left to right, but players should still keep their distance from her to increase the amount of time that they have to react. She'll occasionally slam her legs into the ground to create a shockwave too, which can be avoided simply by jumping just before the moment of impact. If players are too slow to do so though, blocking can take a lot of the sting out of the attack.

While there isn't any crystallized Ether around for players to recharge their Ethereal Arts, Okina's Shockwave attack will cause boulders to fall from the ceiling, each of which contains Ether. Players will also get a substantial amount of Ether after yanking out her first core.

Once players have removed one of Okina's cores, she'll begin to use a more aggressive form of her shockwave attack, which can hit multiple times in quick succession. She'll also gain access to a new poison-gas attack, which will linger after its use and make certain areas of the battle area unplayable. Both attacks are fairly easy to predict though, as she'll need to charge up the former and the gas attack is purple in color and so really stands out.

Players should focus on dodging Okina's attacks while simultaneously damaging her cores. It's best to start the fight by targeting both cores equally rather than focussing on just one though, as this can lead to a shorter second phase. Granted, this does mean that the first phase will drag on a little longer, but as Okina's attacks are a lot less aggressive to begin with, a shorter phase two is definitely the better option here.

Upon removing Okina's second core, players will find themselves back at Tokyo Tower. Just as with Ko-omote a little earlier on in the game, KK will perform a hand seal to destroy Okina's physical form, which will lead to players acquiring the Tsuchigumo Kifuda and the Okina music track. Players can then continue up the nearby steps to Tokyo Tower's entrance and Ghostwire: Tokyo's true point of no return.
