After defeating Yaseotoko once and for all at the top of Tokyo Tower during Chapter 5's closing moments, Ghostwire: Tokyo players will find themselves diving headfirst into the abyss between realms. There, Akito is forced to take a somewhat haunting trip down memory lane, before finally coming face to face with Hannya and his kidnaped sister, Mari.

At first, it seems as though Mari may have put a stop to Hannya after she uses the power of the harvested spirits to send him crashing down into the underworld. Unfortunately, however, the mask-wearing villain is able to retrieve the souls of his wife and daughter while down there, and drags them back up to the surface to form a terrifying beast known as the Amalgamation. Here's how to beat it.

How to Beat Hannya in Ghostwire: Tokyo

As a result of Hannya's Amalgamation transformation, he now has three masks: his wife Okina's, his daughter Ko-omote's, and, for some reason, Yaseotoko's. Players will need to attack these masks in order to expose their cores, though, due to the way that they're all positioned, they'll probably need to deal with Okina's and Ko-omote's first before being able to target the Yaseotoko mask.

When it comes to attacks, Hannya is pretty similar to Yaseotoko in that he also has access to the Ethereal Arts. Just as in previous battles though, players will easily be able to preempt which of the three elements he's about to use based on the color that he glows moments before using them. Pretty much all of these attacks can be blocked with the right timing, with the main exception being his firebomb attack which should instead be dodged due to its large AoE.

As well as Ethereal arts, Hannya also has a few other potentially devastating tricks hidden up his sleeves. These include an AoE attack in which he spews up a bunch of hands that will try to grab KK and Akito to slow them down, a charge attack that sees him crawl towards the heroes at twice his normal speed, and a leap attack that he sometimes uses to put a little extra distance between himself and his would-be killers.

In addition to these attacks, Hannya is also able to summon large groups of jet-black Visitors, which he'll do after Ghostwire: Tokyo players remove his first and second masks. These are fairly easy to defeat due to the large size of the battle area, however, and serve more as a free source of Ether than they do as a legitimate challenge for players. At least this should be the case if players keep their distance and don't allow themselves to be overwhelmed.

The waves of Visitors summoned in by Hannya provide players with a great opportunity to earn the "One Fell Swoop" trophy/achievement, which is unlocked by removing five Visitor cores at once. This is made even easier if players Wire In first, as the shockwave that results from doing so will make exposing the Visitors' cores much easier.

Once all three of Hannya's cores have been removed, the masked villain will finally fall and players will be returned to the area where they left Mari a little earlier on. They'll then be treated to several cutscenes, which actually wrap everything up quite nicely, after which, the end credits will roll and players will unlock the "Binding" and "Conclusions" trophies/achievements. If they transferred 100% of the Spirits in Shibuya before beginning the game's final chapter, they'll also unlock the "Hero of Shibuya" trophy/achievement at this time.
