After destroying the barrier around the Utagawa Shopping District, Ghostwire: Tokyo players will be tasked with finding a telephone card in order to contact KK's friend Ed. They'll also need to locate a special telephone box with a line out of the city, which they will need to identify using its unique coloring.

While finding the right telephone box can be accomplished easily enough with just a little trial and error, getting hold of a telephone card is not so simple. There are actually a few available, though most Ghostwire: Tokyo players will likely require the assistance of a helpful hound in order to track one down.

How to Get a Telephone Card

Finding a telephone card can be a little tricky due to its small size, but it becomes a lot easier once players know where to look. As it happens, they don't actually need to look too hard. From the Shrine, they should take a left and then the first right, which will lead them to a restless spirit standing on a corner. Luckily, she just so happens to mention that she saw a dog holding a telephone card just a little while ago.

Sure enough, there's a cute little Shiba Inu just to her left, and if players read its thoughts (press Square while looking at it), they'll be given the option to give it some food. They should have picked up plenty of dog food already by this stage in the game, but, in the unlikely event that they don't have any, they can find a bag of the good stuff on the ground right in front of the woman's ghost.

After feeding the dog, it will lead players north to a back alley where a couple of people have been raptured. Next to the two piles of clothes on the ground, they'll find the telephone card that they need. There are a few other locations in the area with telephone cards as well, including a launderette to the east of where the dog leads players. This is arguably the easiest one to find though, not to mention the only one that involves a cute video game dog.

How to Contact Ed

After finding a telephone card, players can set about tracking down the right payphone. There are a few marked on the map, but the one that they need can be found by heading right from the Tori gate and then taking the second left. Before they can reach it though, they'll first need to deal with a large group of visitors as well as a corrupted tree (use KK's Spectral Vision to find its core and then destroy it using a projectile or melee attack). Once all of that's been taken care of though, they'll be free to use the payphone to contact Ed.

Due to a bug, some players may not be given a prompt to contact Ed even after finding the right payphone. While this will no doubt be fixed at some point via a patch or update, those having trouble should save and then reload the game. Upon reloading, they should find that they're able to contact Ed by pressing the L2 button while facing the receiver, just as they would when transferring Spirits from their Katashiro.
