Ghostbusters: Afterlife may be a bit far off from its November premiere, but at least fans can rest assured that the movie will come packed with s’more nostalgia than they can handle, according to Bill Murray, with one particularly delicious villain now confirmed to be making a smaller yet plentiful comeback. The familiar face is featured in a new Afterlife preview from director Jason Reitman starring Paul Rudd.

Considering it’s not always easy to live up to the legacy of one’s parents, director Jason Reitman had an extra heavy load to bear when shooting Ghostbusters: Afterlife. After all, not only does he have to fulfill fans’ expectations, but also those of original work from his father. Luckily, Ivan Reitman is very proud of his son’s work, so Jason can now focus on building up more hype for the coming months, hoping audiences end up agreeing with his dad’s opinion.

As part of his promotional campaign, Jason Reitman just shared a sneak peek featuring one of the stars in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and internet darling Rudd, where the character named Mr. Grooberson runs into a hoard of tiny marshmallow “Stay Puft” men, who still look as dangerous as good old Gozer, despite their fun-size frames. Of course, Rudd’s character is instantly drawn by the treats' cuteness, but he quickly finds out these are not the Campfire marshmallows he might be used to.

Despite not being remotely close to terrifying, the tiny marshmallow men possess massive numbers of troops if one is to believe an entire supermarket shelf can suddenly be brought to life. The “Stay Puft” army isn’t too hellbent on chaos though, as they mostly seem to be having fun by hijacking Roombas, roasting each other, and s’moring themselves with chocolate for now.

These cute marshmallow men won’t be the only Ghostbusters characters returning for Afterlife, as stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver are all reprising their respective ghostbusting roles, with Annie Pots also joining them to assist them, even in ways that far exceed her job description. Ghostbusters: Afterlife sees the supernatural forces swap New York’s high cost of living for the quieter Summerville, Oklahoma in a world where the feats of the original Ghostbusters have long been forgotten by most people.

Jason Reitman’s resume certainly pins high hopes on the potential of Afterlife, especially considering the forgettable event that was 2016’s Ghostbusters: Answer the Call. If seven months is too long to wait, then fans can always turn to the fantastic Ghostbusters game available on almost every platform.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is planned for release on November 11, 2021.
