As of today, the widely awaited PlayStation 4 exclusive title Ghost of Tsushima has finally launched and members of the gaming community could not be happier. With tight controls, ambient atmosphere, as well as beautiful graphics and presentation, it looks like Ghost of Tsushima is everything fans have been expecting. Though, for people who wish to review the game on Metacritic, they may run into some issues.

As previously mentioned, Ghost of Tsushima is a game that has been on the radar of many gaming enthusiasts over the last several years. Ever since it's initial review trailer released back in E3 2018, there have been so many people dying to get their hands on this game. Unfortunately, there is something that has halted the flow of Metacritic user reviews for the game.

As one Twitter user has recently noticed, the review page for Ghost of Tsushima has user reviews disabled. This suspension will be lifted on July 18th, but needless to say, some fans were somewhat irked. Then again, Ghost of Tsushima takes a rather long time to beat, with a standard playthrough being anywhere between 30 and 50 hours. Maybe this will incentivize users to spend a longer time on the game before reaching a critical opinion of it.

In any case, many in the gaming community believe this to be the work of Metacritic's new policy on posting user reviews. The new policy is forcing users to wait 36 hours before posting a review of any new game. In place of the user review score, the words "Please spend some time playing the game" have appeared. This policy is largely being used to counter potential review bombing and to ensure that players have spent enough time with the game before giving their review of it.

In Ghost of Tsushima's case, review bombing so far does not appear to be as prevalent an issue compared to other newly released games. After review copies of the game were sent out, the iconic Japanese magazine Famitsu gave Ghost of Tsushima a perfect score. This is not an easy feat to accomplish, and Ghost of Tsushima is only the third game developed by a Western studio, with the other two being The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto 5.

Regardless, hopefully this suspension will give Metacritic users ample time to organize their thoughts and effectively craft more thoughtful, critical reviews. In the meantime, many are enjoying this game, but the developers of Ghost of Tsushima are already thinking ahead. With the PS5 launching later this year, perhaps the developers at Sucker Punch Studios already have some ideas in mind for what comes next, whether that's a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima or a whole new game entirely.

Ghost of Tsushima is out now for the PS4.
