A second year of post-launch downloadable content for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is coming and will be starting next week. The game is over a year old and has a past of major DLCs added post-launch for free to keep the game fresh, the most recent being a Predator-themed update.

Ubisoft has announced that Ghost Recon Wildlands' second season of free post-launch content - known as Year 2 - will consist of four major updates, each titled Special Operations (similarly to Rainbow Six), with each one adding brand new items, missions, rewards, and "community-requested features". The first of these updates, titled Special Operations 1, will be launching next week on April 10.

Special Operations I will bring a brand new campaign mission and a challenge with exclusive rewards to Wildlands next week, as well as introducing Sabotage, an all new PvP gamemode. In Sabotage, attacking players are tasked with holding an objective until the timer runs out, while the defending players must prevent them from doing so in order to win. It will add five new exclusive maps, a new class, and perks. This is similar to last year's PvP update, titled Ghost War PvP, which matched 8 players in teams of 4 against each other in a Team Deathmatch.

The update will also "finally" add the ability to customize your AI teammates in the campaign - which may be one of the "community-requested features" that Ubisoft talked about, but you can only do so with clothing you've unlocked for your own character. Special Operations I will also add content originally planned for Update 5 "Reinforcement" and Update 6 "Bravo 6" for Ghost War's original roadmap that was published last year.

Although the updates will be free, Wildlands is giving players who purchase the Year 2 pass 7-day early access to brand new Ghost War classes, on top of a customization pack, four Special Ops crates, and four Ghost War crates. These will be used in co-operation with the brand new ability to customize your teammates in the campaign, and are a recent addition to the game. The Year 2 pass will cost $29.99 USD and will be available for purchase soon.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
