The Ghost Recon: Wildlands open beta is now in full swing, which means there are plenty of interested gamers data mining for as much information about the game as they can find. One Redditor discovered a reference to a crossbow while searching through the Ghost Recon: Wildlands DLC files, hinting at the inclusion of the unique weapon.

While the reference itself is quite simple, it leads us to believe there will not only be a crossbow in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, but that players will have access to different types of bolts. Some gamers are speculating online that these bolts will include a normal arrow, some kind of explosive, possibly a electronic disruptor, and even a poison arrow. Naturally, gamers won’t know the truth until the final game is released and any potential DLC is announced, but it’s fun to speculate.

In the meantime, gamers can now experience a new area and missions while the Ghost Recon: Wildlands open beta lasts. It’s scheduled to run from today through February 27th, so gamers will have plenty of time to enjoy the bit of free playtime.

There will undoubtedly be more discoveries made in Ghost Recon: Wildlands as more gamers sift through the data available in the game files. It’ll be interesting to learn if there are any additional weapons, vehicles, or gadgets not currently available in the beta.

Additionally, gamers are already attempting to exit the beta map boundaries to explore more of the Ghost Recon: Wildlands vast open world. That said, with gamers escaping the limited area during the closed beta a few weeks ago, it’s likely Ubisoft has corrected the issue in order to keep players from discovering secrets and features before the final game releases.

Those who want more Ghost Recon: Wildlands beyond the open beta can also check out the live-action short film available now on Amazon. The film follows the Santa Blanca Cartel and gives fans of the franchise an inside look into the enemies of Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set to release March 7, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
