Sucker Punch has finally released the new Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, which adds some great new content to the game. Players now have even more to discover than ever before, like the new archery challenges and animal sanctuaries. Beyond the addition of new interactive content, Sucker Punch has hidden a few easter eggs for fans to discover that come in the form of hidden shrines. These shrines pay homage to some famous Playstation titles that players have loved over the years.
Each shrine gives players a new skin for one of the many armor sets. Some might remember them from the Legends mode where they appeared for a while. Those who remember these skins will remember the Shadow of the Colossus skin. Now players can get this skin for Jin in the Iki Island DLC, but first, they must find the Shrine in Shadow.
Shrine In Shadow Location
Though it might sound like this shrine is hidden deep in a dark, shadowy location on Iki Island, it is actually located atop a cliffside in the southern section of the map. At least there are a couple of trees that cast a shadow on the shrine to help it live up to its name.
Players looking for the shrine need to head to the farthest south section of the map below Buddha's Footprint. If they reach the Raider's Memorial, they went too far. There is also a nearby bamboo strike for players to discover. The shrine is located to the west of this area.
The Puzzle
Every shrine has a puzzle for players to solve in order to get the armor skin and associated mask. Players need to grab the scroll off the stone bench in front of the statue. It will appear on the screen for players to read. It says:
Stone Knows No Season,
Nor The Colossus That Was
Felled To Save One Soul.
Wanderer, Come Like Through Mist,
A Ghost Casting No Shadow.
Players might think that the entire poem is the clue, but they would be wrong. The only lines in the poem that matter are the final two. Like the other shrines, this poem tells players exactly what armor Jin should be wearing and what action he must perform.
The Solution
The solution for the puzzle is quite easy once players know what to look for. The key lies in the references to ghost and mist. To complete this puzzle, players must take two steps.
First, they must equip Jin with the Ghost Armor. Next, they need to throw down a smoke bomb while standing in front of the statue. This will initiate a small cutscene that will end with Jin now wearing the Armor of the Colossus skin and the Mask of the Colossus.
