Ghost of Tsushima has been a huge success for Sucker Punch Productions. The title has been a hit with fans because of its Feudal Japan setting and the aesthetic qualities of Ghost of Tsushima have earned it critical acclaim.  There have been a number of partnerships and fan tributes that have spawned from the game but a fan has now set an impressive collaborative benchmark. A player reviewed the game while painting in a Bob Ross style on YouTube.

While many games have cinematic qualities, Ghost of Tsushima managed to use the Kurosawa name in their game. Akira Kurosawa directed seminal samurai films such as Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, and Ran. As a result, having the approval of his estate to use his name reflects the aesthetic quality of the game. A painter has now recreated one of the beautiful opening landscapes in the game while reflecting on the title as well as giving information on painting tools.

YouTuber, tworuru, began by painting dark clouds before moving on to lighter colors such as the golden yellow trees which are commonplace as players begin exploring the open world. Interestingly, the painter offered some insight into how colorful aspects are usually used to direct players rather than create beautiful locations that feature in the game and this painting. Throughout, the video the painter lets viewers now what tools they are using in a calming and soothing tone which is very similar to Bob Ross. Although it should be noted that this Ghost of Tsushima painter has a Kiwi accent.

The painter finishes this piece by adding effects of wind in the scenery and the result is very similar to the scene that players find themselves in after the first battle to protect Tsushima in the game. Ghost of Tsushima has sold well and because of its quality, the game has inspired fans to create a lot of content that pays homage to the experience. With that said, few pieces of content are as impressive as this painting which captures the spirit of the game perfectly.

It will be interesting to see what fan homages to Ghost of Tsushima are created in the future but this painting does send a benchmark for engagement with the game. Nonetheless, Ghost of Tsushima has reached millions of people and as a result, some players will likely be able to create new inspiring content on the back of playing the acclaimed title.
