Genshin Impact: Yummy Barbecue Under the Stars Event Guide and Recipes

Genshin Impact’s new “Yummy! Barbecue Under the Stars” is a cute web event side-story wrapping up the recent Labyrinth Warriors plotline. Tartaglia, Xinyan, Shiki Taishou, and Paimon take a breather from the perils of the Mystic Onmyou Chamber to celebrate fish and friendship, challenging Travelers to complete a recipe book for Primogems and prizes. The gameplay is a bit less direct than what fans normally see from Genshin Impact – this guide will cover the various grilling techniques and dishes required to receive the maximum rewards.

To access Yummy! Barbeque Under the Stars, players should select it from the “Special Event” icon on the main menu (it does not show up in “Events Overview”). Those playing on PS4 and PS5 platforms can use their smart phone or tablet cameras to hover over the QR code and open the page on their mobile device’s Internet browser.

Grilled Fish

There are six different possible states of “doneness” to grilled fish. Raw fish is self-explanatory – it hasn’t changed color at all and was only briefly on the grill. Undercooked fish will be slightly darker with puffs of white steam. Fully Grilled fish emit little golden squares and are noticeably darker than raw fish. Crispy fish have an Undercooked or Fully Grilled side face-up with black smoke indicating imminent disaster on the other.

Recipes that call for Crispy fish must be marked complete pretty quickly after the smoke appears without flipping the fish, otherwise a charred gray Burnt fish is the resulting dish. The Grilled Fish that Broke Through Dimensions recipe is the only one that uses a fish Burnt to the point where a hole shows through it.

Obtaining Materials

The materials involved in Yummy Barbeque include Fish, Seasoning, and Firewood. Bitter Pufferfish, Medaka, or Golden Bass are the seafood options. Four fish are caught by Tartaglia every 6 hours, and players choose which type of fish they’d like to grill. There are no set numbers of particular fish and most dishes allow any fish selection with the exception of those that specifically call for perfectly cooked, moderately spiced versions of each unique Fish.

Seasoning is acquired through a series of daily and cumulative tasks:

Use 40 Original Resin daily (x2)
Complete 2 Daily Commissions daily (x2)
Share the event once during the event duration (x4)
Use a total of 200 Original Resin during the event (x4)
Spend a total of 50,000 Mora during the event (x4)

This comes to a total of 4 potential Seasonings acquired daily and a single 12 Seasoning bonus. Recipes will call for 1 of 3 degrees of Seasoning: Mild, Just Right, or Heavy. “Just Right” is also referred to as “Moderate” in recipe descriptions. The order in which the fish is grilled and the Seasoning is applied doesn’t matter.

Firewood is given for each daily log in, 4 pieces total.

Recipes

The goal of Yummy! Barbecue Under the Stars is to fill out the Grilled Fish Archive by experimenting with cooking styles and gifting the dishes to Shiki Taishou. Grilling fish produces Friendship points that raise Shiki Taishou’s Friendship Level, with certain recipes giving more points than others. Rewards are distributed based on the Friendship Level milestones:

Friendship Level: 20 – Primogem x 10
Friendship Level: 300 – Mystic Enhancement Ore x 12, Primogem x 20
Friendship Level: 600 – Hero’s Wit x 6, Primogem x 30
Friendship Level: 800 – Primogem x 60, Mora x 30,000

Discovering fresh recipes is a matter of trial and error. If a duplicate recipe is grilled, the game will provide new recipe hints in red text. Many recipes overlap in both ingredients and cooking techniques – these dish results are randomized. Genshin Impact players aiming to make every recipe and earn the associated Mora and 10 Crystal Core reward can reference the following compendium:
