Yoimiya is one of Genshin Impact's most interesting characters, with a backstory and a rebellious streak that sets her apart from many other characters that can be found in Inazuma. Alongside her backstory, she also has a heartwarming and emotional story quest that players are sure to enjoy.
Yoimiya’s story quest, the Carassius Auratus Chapter, requires the player to be at least AR30 - this is easily achievable, as players can only access Inazuma at AR30. Other than that, there are no prerequisites, though it’s usually a good idea to make sure that all other story quests have been completed so any NPCs that might appear will be free. The Firework Girl's Strange Stories
The first part of Yoimiya’s story quest involves heading to Narukami Beach in Inazuma. A quest marker will direct the player to a group of children on the beach; head over to them and a cutscene will begin.
During this cutscene, the children will discuss a Youkai they’re looking for and will tell the Traveler and Paimon that Yoimiya is helping them make a weapon to defeat the monster. After learning about Yoimiya’s plan to help the children, follow them to Naganohara Fireworks on the outskirts of Inazuma City, and another cutscene will start where the player meets Yoimiya.
After following the quest markers set for the player after the initial cutscene where the Traveler and Paimon meet Yoimiya, the final stage of the first part of Yoimiya’s quest is to confirm where the source of a suspicious sound is coming from. After doing this, the second stage of Yoimiya’s story quest will begin. The player will be introduced to a fugitive that Yoimiya is harboring, and will agree to help Yoimiya help him escape.
Expectations Not to Be Betrayed
In the second part of Yoimiya’s story quest, the player will help Yoimiya prepare a boat for the fugitive, Sakujirou, to escape in. Speak to Yoimiya for a while; after she has finished speaking to the player, the Traveler, Paimon, and Yoimiya must then look around in Inazuma City for firework materials. Firstly, find and speak to Morihiko in Inazuma. He can be found near the Yae Publishing House.
After speaking to Morihiko and listening to him share stories about the way Yoimiya helps the people of Inazuma, the player should then make their way to Amenoma Smithy on the eastern side of Inazuma City. Here, the history between the Smithy and Yoimiya’s family can be discovered.
When the tasks in the City have been completed, the player should then head to the location marked by a quest marker on the map and meet with Kouichi. After waiting for a little while and chatting with Yoimiya, Kouichi will eventually show up. When the cutscene ends, travel to a small beach southwest of Inazuma City to check on the condition of the boat.
Another cutscene will play once the player arrives at the quest location; after the cutscene ends, the Traveler and Paimon should go and find Sakujirou to let him know about the boat. Fast travel to the uppermost Teleport Waypoint in Inazuma City and follow the path to find Sakujirou.
A Sliver of Hope
After agreeing to help Sakujirou in the previous part of Yoimiya’s story quest, the player should then travel to Konda Village. After arriving in Konda Village, speak to either Imatani Saburou or Imatani Kaori, and a cutscene will begin. After speaking to one of the Imatani's, a cutscene will begin; during the cutscene, the Traveler and Yoimiya agree to help the old couple with a few chores.
One of the quests after the cutscene asks the player to cut down the weeds around the Imatani's home, which can easily be done by any character with a bladed weapon. The other quest is a small delivery quest involving finding an NPC named Satoru to deliver him pickled radish.
Once these chores have been done, go back and find the old couple once more. They’ll thank the player and Yoimiya for their help, and Yoimiya begins to tell them about Sakujirou. However, the old couple tells Yoimiya that they’re unable to help Sakujirou as he is an old friend of their son, a Tenryou Commission officer. After meeting the old couple, follow the quest marker back to where Sakujirou is waiting.
Together Under the Fireworks
Unfortunately, at the end of the previous part of Yoimiya’s story quest, Sakujirou was almost captured by the Tenryou Commission. At the beginning of the fourth and final part of the story quest, the player must look for clues that will lead them to where Sakujirou may have escaped to. The Traveler will meet the group of children who first mentioned Yoimiya, and will give a hint as to where Sakujirou went.
Follow the children’s directions and the player will eventually come to find a group of Tenryou Commission officers blocking the road. The player must defeat these officers to be able to get past them; during this fight, the game offers Yoimiya as a trial character, so feel free to build a party that will work alongside her.
After defeating the officers, speak to them again. They’ll threaten Yoimiya and the Traveler, which prompts the player to push forward to escape them. Head towards the quest marker on the map, and the player will encounter Imatani Keisuke, the son of the old couple the Traveler and Yoimiya just met. He and Sakujirou have been fighting; Yoimiya steps in and tells Keisuke that if he beats her, he can arrest both her and Sakujirou.
The player will then fight against Keisuke as a mini-boss, as well as the Tenryou Commission officers that appear as back-up. Again, the player will be able to try out Yoimiya in this battle, too. After defeating Keisuke, a cutscene will begin where Keisuke and Sakujirou finally have an opportunity to speak to one another.
The two make up despite their differences, and Sakujirou finally decides to leave Inazuma once more. Speak to Keisuke, and he will share his thoughts before leaving. Yoimiya will then tell the Traveler to meet her somewhere where they can watch the fireworks together. A cinematic cutscene will play, with another chance to speak to Yoimiya at the end of the quest.
