The action-RPG Genshin Impact has an impressive roster of characters to collect already, but more are being added regularly. New characters mean new skills and abilities, some of which can really beef up a player's party in terms of power. Developer miHoYo revealed a flurry of fresh faces being added to Genshin Impact soon via social networking, and players are excited to see what they will bring to the table.

It's common for new characters to be revealed through the game's official Twitter account. But having four new characters revealed at once is rare, and players are responding with a mix of surprise and delight. Those who saw the Genshin Impact 1.7 update leak that made its rounds recently probably weren't as surprised, however. The leak named two of the four newly announced characters, which consists of Yoimiya, Kaedehara Kazuha, Kamisato Ayaka, and Sayu.

Yoimiya is a Pyro user, Kazuha and Sayu are Anemo users, and Ayaka is a Cryo user. There's a chance Yoimiya could appear on an upcoming banner shortly after the release of the 1.6 update on June 9. She will be the second Pyro bow user in the entire game, meaning she may be a nice replacement for Amber, currently one of the lowest-ranked characters on the Genshin Impact tier list. However, based on the previous leak, Yoimiya may not be available until after the 1.7 update, along with the rest of the new characters.

There are a lot more details on the returning Klee banner, which will be available as soon as the 1.6 update is complete. As a character that players are very familiar with, there's less of a mystery surrounding Klee's usefulness. However, new players might be asking themselves if Klee is worth rolling for. This Pyro user is actually one of the strongest main DPS characters in the game, but she has a difficult playstyle that may now be for everyone.

Outside of the banner, there is also a lot of new content coming in the big 1.6 update. There will be a number of new enemies and events introduced, such as the Midsummer Island Adventure, which includes four different stages with unique gameplay. The update will also bring new challenges, alternate outfits for characters, and even a housing system.

With all of the new content, players will have plenty to do in Genshin Impact for a while. That's a good thing, considering the 1.7 update isn't expected to release until the end of July. If the banners for these newly-announced characters aren't coming until after that update, there's a decent wait before players can add them to their rosters. Hopefully, miHoYo will confirm the release window soon.

Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version also in development.
