Genshin Impact, the action-role playing game from Chinese developer miHoYo, has been a huge success. Based in the fantasy world of Teyvat, players traverse an open world with a party of four characters.

Like many Genshin Impact characters, Yae Miko was heavily rumored to join the roster of playable characters. Travelers will meet her during their quests in Inazuma, and since her introduction, many have been long awaiting news of her banner release. Many fans were disappointed when the Genshin Impact 2.4 banners were announced, bringing Shenhe and Yun Jin but missing out on the Electro character, but miHoYo has finally confirmed that she's joining as a playable character.

Since her first appearances in a couple of update previews, Yae Miko has become one of the most popular Genshin Impact characters. The latest animated Genshin Impact trailer tells players a lot about Yae Miko, from her backstory to her lifestyle. The shrine maiden of the Grand Nurakami Shrine is a mysterious and intelligent character. She's the chief editor of her own publishing house, so Yae Miko spends her days reading novels from other writers, and overseeing the work of her editors.

Yae's elemental burst will cause lightning dealing AoE electro damage. Upon using her elemental burst, Yae Miko releases all Lethal Sakura nearby which will morph into Tenko Thunderstrike dealing AoE electro damage. She has also been rumored to be one of the strongest Genshin Impact DPS characters, on par with Hu Tao, Xiao, and Ganyu. Another Genshin Impact leak has revealed four out of six constellations for this character:

  • C1: Every time Heavenly Fox triggers a Lethal Sakura Thunderbolt, Yae Recovers 7 Energy
  • C2: Lethal Sakura cooldown is reduced by 20% and its AoE is increased by 100%
  • C4: All teammates receive a 20% electro damage buff for five seconds after Yae's Lethal Sakura triggers Heavenly Fox
  • C6: When a Lethal Sakura is created, its initial level is raised to two and its maximum level is increased by four. These attacks will ignore 45% of enemies Defense.

The fact that her ascension stat is Crit rate means that she will most likely be a DPS character in the game which is unusual for a Catalyst user. She is also confirmed to be a new Electro Vision holder. Her elemental skill will allow her to move rapidly, leaving behind "Lethal Sakura" which periodically deals damage to one nearby enemy. This means that she could also have strong sub-DPS capabilities.

Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
