Genshin Impact recently introduced the new five-star Liyue native, Xiao, as a playable character. That being said, Travelers continue to discover new elements of the previously introduced Dragonspine region, found south of Mondstadt.

Updated June 28, 2021 by Mina Smith: The Dragonspine Spear is one of the most unique weapons to show up in Genshin Impact so far, requiring players to build it from a blueprint via some specific and rare materials. Finding all of the Vitalized Dragonteeth can be difficult for newcomers and veterans alike. To better help players complete this difficult task and build this powerful weapon, this guide has been revamped. As Genshin Impact continues to grow and change, older articles need to be updated with new information. The following article has been altered to include more pictures, more information, and clearer instructions.

The Dragonspine Spear in Genshin Impact

Travelers have already spent some time acquainting themselves with Dragonspine thanks to the Genshin Impact event that featured Albedo, the Geo-wielding alchemist. Those who have already finished the "Festering Fang" questline that's meant to introduce the region will have also already at least heard of the fabled Dragonspine Spear.

The Dragonspine Spear was introduced to the game alongside the Frostbearer (catalyst) and the Snow-Tombed Starsilver (claymore) as part of the Version 1.2 Dragonspine update. All three of these weapons share the passive ability "Frost Burial," which allows the user a chance to generate a powerful Cryo DMG-dealing icicle upon successful Normal or Charged Attacks. Despite this shared ability though, the three weapons in the Dragonspine Series are obtained in entirely unique ways. The Dragonspine Spear requires a blueprint, and can then be forged with the help of eight Vitalized Dragonteeth.

Vitalized Dragontooth Locations in Genshin Impact

Players can obtain a Vitalized Dragontooth by taking a Strange Tooth to the Core found in Wyrmrest Vallet and "extracting Vitality." Four Strange Teeth can be found across Dragonspine, and they reappear after roughly two days. Players hoping to craft a Dragonspine Spear should buckle up for what will likely be a week-long endeavor. And if planning on Refining their Dragonspine Spear, Travelers should expect several weeks of doing a big lap of Dragonspine.

  • Strange Tooth 1: Look for torches; there will be a tooth nearby.
  • Strange Tooth 2: Look for a small island.
  • Strange Tooth 3: Wyrmrest Valley Red Cave; it will be inside.
  • Strange Tooth 4: Near the water on the floor.

Making Vitalized Dragontooth from Strange Teeth

Once a player has found four of the "Strange Tooth" item, they should head to the hidden Core found in Wyrmrest Valley, which is part of the Dragonspine region. Once there, simply interact with the large heart-like entity to create the Vitalized Dragonteeth. With eight in hand and the blueprints for a Dragonspine Spear, players can simply head to either of the game's current blacksmiths and forge their powerful new four-star weapon.

Of course, the Vitalized Dragontooth is only one of the ingredients required by the Dragonspine Spear blueprints, and players will need all of them to successfully forge one of the polearms. The other forging requirements are 50 Starsilver (also found throughout Dragonspine), 500 mora, and a Northlander Polearm Billet. Players should also note that the Polearm Billet is simply a recently renamed "Northlander Polearm Prototype."

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
